I want to replace the voice of the main character with the voice of camellia from the sequel, is it possible to take it off like that and how to do it?
As much as I hate to be a doomer here, but it's late July 2023 and this still doesn't seem to work. Nor does the linked fork of it later down the line... and that's a big shame. So much potential for greatness here.
But you can manually shift the voice lines, I guess...
I know this is an old message but leaving this here incase anyone else comes looking for a fix. this will need to be done everytime before you launch the game but if you go into the mods folder and delete the .cache and settings files it will fix the restart needed issue however you need to reenable the voice again. I'ts a bit of a pain in the arse but I hope this helps someone.
I've forked SpaceHamster's repo and compiled a new version against the current (at the time of writing) version of Unity Mod Manager, v0.22.13 - https://github.com/DarthParametric/KingmakerToggleCustomSoundpacksMod/releases/latest
You can just drop the DLL and JSON over the top of an existing install, overwriting the original files. Just delete the cache file in the mod's folder before running the game (only the first time). Should be game version agnostic.
Hello! I've tried the above code with various legacy versions of unity mod manager and nothing seems to work at all after the second launch. Any chance of this mod getting an update? I finally made a character I was happy with after abandoning the console port for PC mods - just super burnt out by it all and cant find another way to use a custom voice pack.
Can someone point to another solution so I can pick up where I left off?
If you already downloaded and installed the latest version in github and after closing and starting the game the mod still needs restarted (red), delete the Settings.xml in Mods/ToggleCustomSoundpacks. It will turn green. However, you must redo this the next time the problem recurred. edit: I know a way. You don't need to delete the Settings.xml every time you restart the game. 1. Just edit Settings.xml using editing programs like Notepad++ and change <Enabled>true</enabled> to <Enabled>False</enabled>. 2. Change the file properties and make it 'read-only'
In case anybody is still trying to solve this, just do it like you do it for WOTR soundsets: Go to steamapps\common\Pathfinder Kingmaker\Kingmaker_Data\StreamingAssets\Audio\GeneratedSoundBanks\Windows, save the old voice set (in case you want to restore it later) and then insert the new file from this mod. The voice won't sound like the new set in the character creation, but it will work ingame.
Does this work for individual voice replacements, i.e. with this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderkingmaker/mods/113?tab=posts I'm just curious if only that custom voice will be an option or if this mod preserves unmodded voices as options alongside modded ones.
This mod doesn't add in any sound clips itself, but enables other sound packs to be installed without overriding existing game files, and allows them to be enabled or disabled while the game is running. There are currently two custom voice packs that i'm aware of. Custom Player Voice - Male Adventurer - https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderkingmaker/mods/73 Commander Shepard (Male) voicepack - https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderkingmaker/mods/64

edit: actually the same behavior keeps happening after using this fork, too. :(
