The game considers many things as area effects that should not be removed, so the mod keeps a list of safe to remove effects. If there are area effects you'd like to see added to the list, post their names here and they'll be added in the next release.

Updated the mod myself. Grabbed the latest dump of blueprints, cross checked all the ids and updated the broken one, plus added in the others. Please test and tell me if it works. All credit to v1ld, thanks for posting a link to your source code.
For anyone looking to use this mod and having trouble getting Unity Mod Manager to install it, extract the zip, edit the info.json file and change the manager version to the version your Unity Mod manager is (currently 0.23.3 as of writing this).
Maybe a bit of a necro at this point, but to echo some posts below, would it be possible to get Tar Pool and Spike Stones added to the list of removed effects? They're the only two that I have noticed are still missing, and it would be wonderful to have them in.
