You're welcome, and I'm truly glad to hear that it worked for you. That having been said, thank *you* for posting feedback and letting me know that it worked for you. This 'mod' has been downloaded over 50 times, yet you're the first to actually report back saying that it worked. Granted, I never did ask for feedback, but a quick "Thanks, it works!" is much appreciated, plus it lets me know that it actually does work on other people's computers. Thanks again, and enjoy the game!
@metalor2: You're welcome, and I hope it was useful.
Regarding packing the data back into an .hvp file...to be honest, I also wanted to re-pack all the data back into the .hvp format, but I gave up because I could not find a working packer for Obscure 1. I *think* there is a re-packer for Obscure 2, but it didn't work for Obscure 1 data.
I later realized that all the data could be extracted from all the .hvp files, and, upon deleting the .hvp files, the game would fetch all data from the 'data' directory instead (which also resulted in less lag during cut-scenes).
Like you, I also tried the tools you mentioned, but they would always close with an error message. Sorry I couldn't help with that, but if you do end up finding a solution, please let everyone here know. There's a lot of other people who would like to re-pack this data, as well.
Thank you for the instruction and the tools. Your archive contains unhvp.exe which works great to extract DATAPACK.hvp. Do you know how to pack the extracted folder back? I tried HVFilePacker-3-1-0-1731764304, obscure.hvptool.exe, Obscure 2 Modding Tool-2-0-1-1714835508 but none of them works
