01. Introduction & Thanks
=========================

Our little Neeshka is all grown up. *sniff* I say our, because with well over eighteen thousand downloads at the time I'm writing this, and because when you put "companion n" imto Google she comes up 3rd in the list, there are at least a few people out there who consider Neeshka to be a part of their Oblivion as much as I do. How old is she now, 5 years? I'd like to personally thank everyone who helped me with her along the way, and everyone who has her as an adventuring companion in their Ob, as well as everyone who has offered their adivce, comments, suggestions, compliments, and constructive criticisms. Without all that, she never would have made it this far.

This is the current running Neeshka thread at the Beth forums --> http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1005925

Ok, so... for you new people, here's a bit of a rundown. Companion Neeshka is a Dunmer female, with hair from the ever popular Ren's Hair mod. You can tell her where home is, tell her where to sleep, where to spend her afternoons, and where her horse can stay when she isn't using it. If you ride hroses, she'll ride her's when following you. Her horse will stay near your horse when you dismount, so she doesn't have to walk half a mile to get back to it when it's time to go. She can heal you and/or herself during combat and/or out of combat. She can be a melee fighter or a marksman, switchable via dialogue, she can make or upgrade your arrows, she can sell you lockpicks, give you repair hammers, recharge your magic gear, goes into alert when you do, sneaks when you do, can be told to use a torch, or not, via dialogue... the list goes on, all detailed in the sections below. And, if I do say so myself, one of the most stable and glitch-free companions you'll find for Ob.

Neeshka uses parts of the following mods. The parts needed are included, so if you don't have these mods, she'll still have what she needs.

Neeshka's Horse:
Slof's Horses v2.0 by AlienSlof - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24312
The needed files have unique filenames, so it will not matter if you have this mod or not. It will not affect any other part of the game other than Neeshka's horse. Thanks for AlienSlof for letting me use these. As requested in the readme, here are the credits for everyone involved with AlienSlof's mod...

---excerpt from AlienSlof's Horses readme---
Thanks to everyone for testing this out for me.
HappyHannah and Phoenixamon for helping me to figure some things out
The clever folks of NifTools for the amazingly versatile NifSkope which I can't manage without!
The equally clever folks who created Blender which I am now coming to grips with
Bethesda for some of their textures which I have tweaked and used as a base for many of these - and Oblvion of course!
The folks on the ES forums for providing me with reference pics for the more unusual horse types.
Thanks to Arty for spotting the problems with lighting on the horse heads in HDR. These are now hopefully corrected.
Big thanks to jcarl904 for the mare meshes.
Big thanks also to XMarksTheSpot for making me the reins and tweaking meshes!
Zira for the little pyramid mesh I used on the bridle headband - and the idea of doing new bridles!
Thanks also to MysticHybrid for the saddlebag meshes and textures, and odin_ml for optimising the meshes and making them work a bit better in-game.

New stallion, unicorn, mane, tail and bridle meshes by me. All textures by me.
--------------------end---------------------

Neeshka's Hair:
Rens Beauty Pack - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4431
The needed files are in unique directories, so it will not matter if you have this mod or not, or any other mod that uses it. It will not affect any other part of the game other than Neeshka's hair. Thanks to Ren for letting everyone use these popular files.

Thanks to Specific People:
There were many people who helped get Neeshka to v1.6, and then beta 2.0. If you would like to be included here, please drop me a line, as I don't remember your names. :(

pcrodis - testing 2.0 - 2.x, and discovering the horse CTD

Emma - testing 2.0 - 2.x, as well as flinging suggestions at me faster than I can implement them lol <3

Deepfreeze - suggesting adding script to fix her attribs if they get damaged

02. Disclaimer
==============

This mod has been tested in every way I could think of, and shouldn't have any conflicts with any other mods, or break the game in any way. Still, use at your own risk, because if it messes up your game, there isn't anything I can do about it. My suggestion... keep a save handy from before you used this mod, just in case you decide you don't like it. Then you can delete the mod and load the save without it, and it will be like it was never there.

03. Version History
===================

--v1.0-- Initial release. Dec. 13, 2006

--v1.1 through 1.6 Removed. The new version is such a big change, this might as well be a re-release.

--v2.0-- Total Rebuild. June 23, 2009

--v2.1--
01. Updated her horse with meshes and textures from Slof's Oblivion Horses, with permission. All-inclusive and unique, won't affect anything other than Neeshka's horse, no matter if you have Slof's or not.

02. Set her eyes back to default, to remove dependancy from Elaborate Eyes. If you want different ones, feel free to change them in the CS.

03. Made a change to her "fallen behind" message so it wouldn't go off every time you load into a new cell

04. Made a change to her "auto double-face fix" so it only runs after she is taken as a companion. Seemed to interfere with the initialize part of her script.

05. Got rid of all the varla stone messages that display when she recharges your equipment - thanks to Jumanji for that one.

06. There was an error in her sit-while-armed package, fixed, but likely isn't going to help her sitting behavior.

07. Fixed an issue where if she is in casual mode and you check her inventory, she puts her armor back on, making you have to tell her to follow casual again to get her to change back into her clothing. - Thanks to Emma for pointing that out.

08. Added script to force her to load into player's cell if she was supposed to, and didn't. This will stop her from getting left behind when you go through a door. When outside, if she gets too far behind, this will also act as a warp, unless she is on a horse, then it will do nothing.

09. Fixed an error that left her standing in her undies if you woke her up and told her to follow you. Now she will get dressed as soon as you tell her to follow, without having to do it twice.

10. Changed her player heal spell to target only, no AOE.

11. Removed the "heal during combat" function and dilaogue, and replaced with something useful, and much more reliable. She has an AOE restoration spell she can cast from the dialogue menu. This is useful for healing horses, other NPC's, other companions... just stand near them and ask her to cast it from her Abilities menu.

--v2.2--
01. Combat-healing is back in, can be turned off and on via dialogue, activates when player is at or below 1/3rd base max health value, has limited magicka and limited range. So if you need healing, make sure you get fairly close to her, and hopefully she will not be out of magicka. If she is low, she will cast as soon as she's able.

02. Out-of-combat healing improved to use new method, no more targeted spells that can miss, no more walking while she's trying to cast.

03. New "cast AOE heal party spell" via dialogue from v2.1 has been retained, useful for healing horses, other companions, npc's, whatever.

04. All healing and torch functions are now **OFF** by default. If you want her to heal you in and/or out of combat, and/or use a torch, you will have to tell her so.

05. Neeshka's horse will now move near the player's horse when not in use. This will cut down on the distance she has to travel to mount, and cut down on time it takes to get moving again. If the player isn't using a horse, Neeshka's horse will stay near it's home marker.

06. When Neeshka is on horseback following the player, she will no longer dismount on her own to fight. That way if you just want to keep riding, she will ignore any enemies and continue to follow you. If you do want to fight, simply dismount your horse, and she will return to whichever aggression setting she was at before. If it was "attack any enemy" she will immediately attack anything that was following you. If it was "be defensive" she will attack anything that is attacking you or her, but nothing else. if you had told her to "not fight at all" then naturally, she'll do nothing but stand there like a 'tard.

07. Her dialogue fletching option now only shows if she has been set to ranged mode.

08. Her dialogue aggression options only show the two settings she is not set to, the one she is set to will not show. Her "aggression is set to X" message has also been removed when changing options. It will be easy to see which one she is set to by which ones are showing.

09. Removed some leftover "start combat" code in her script that did not work. Doesn't affect anything other than shortening her script just a little. If you want to force her into combat (like in the arena, or some innocent you want dead and you don't want the blame), use the Start Combat spell she gives you when you meet her.

10. Neeshka's face had been tweaked and tweaked to the point where it just began to look weird, like people who have too much plastic surgery. I reset her and started over completely from the base I used originally, and I'm quite pleased with the results. She doesn't look like an aibrushed model, but she is rather cute now imo. I'm calling her looks "done and done".

--v2.3--
01. Changed her self-healing spell to script control (using the new healing method from v2.2) to prevent her from needlessly spamming it on herself.

02. Accidently included the wrong nif files for her horse in v2.1, causing a CTD if you did not have Slof's files installed. This is now fixed.

03. Added code to fix her attributes if they get damaged by spells, poison, ect...

04. Lowered the magicka cost of her healing spells, in heavy fighting she would run out much too quickly.

05. Added waterwalking. She will now walk on water whenever the player does, or swim when the player swims.

06. Changed lockpick dialiogue function. Removed the need to belong to the Thieves Guild, but now she only gives you 5, and you have to give her 25 gold so she can get some more. You can buy as many as you like from her, however. And no, the gold won't show up in her inventory so you can't just take it back.

--v2.4-- This version was done by Emma
01. Stopping the "neeshka has engaged an enemy" message from looping if the user did not have a weapon out, like a mage for example... oopsies, never thought of that ^_^

02. Set Neeshka's health to match the player's *base* health if it was lower than the player's, because Neesh had gimped health like all other npc's in the game. Will give her more base max health, so she won't get knocked out so much. Will really help those who don't like her to use her healing.

03. Gave her a new casual (no armor/weaps) Wait Here function. It acts like a standard wander mode, where she can interract with other npc's, etc. This has been added to her main dialogue tree.

04. Changed the conditions for which she goes into sleep mode, and a few other similar modes, so she won't bother unless she is near where she is supposed to be, ie near her home and/or sleep makers. This should keep her from wandering off in search of her fluffy pillow if she isn't already at home. :)

05. The best change, and one I totally did not think of... when you set her home marker, it moves all her markers, including her sleep and town markers, to the new location. This way, if you tell her "here's your new home", and forget or just don't bother setting her sleep marker too, she won't travel alllll the way to the Bloated Float to go to sleep. If there is no bed in the same area as her home marker, she just won't sleep. After you set the home marker, you can then set her sleep and town (hang out here in the afternoon) markers, and she will use those at the right time. If you move her home marker to a new spot, the other markers will get moved, too.

06. Removed her starting arrows from her inventory. For some reason, it seems that on occasion she would use the starting arrows she has, instead of the ones you give her, even if you took the original ones away. If you want her to use arrows, give her a bow, give her arrows, take away any blades, and set her to ranged. This won't stop the weird "shooting blanks" problem that companions have, Emma says this is related to having Shivering Isles installed.

--v2.5--
01. Changed the way Neeshka decides when it's time to ride her horse, so she won't be showing up following the player when she isn't supposed to. This was the last known glitch that she had, as far as I know.

02. Added an oft-requested ability for her to ride her horse in casual mode. If she is following the player unarmed and/or wearing plain clothing, she will now be able to mount, and then dismount, her horse still in casual dress. However, when riding like this and the player decides to stop and fight, she will instantly armor-up and equip her weapon the second she jumps down to join the fight. She will still be in armor when she gets back on to ride, but will then go back into casual mode the next time the player dismounts without fighting.

====================
04. New Installation
====================

1. Extract the files into the Oblivion\Data folder, making sure WinRar does not extract them into a Companion Neeshka folder inside the data folder. Load order should not matter much, but make sure it loads after Shivering Isles if you have it.
2. If you want Neeshka to default to Ranged instead of Melee, copy the Companion Neeshka esp from the Optional Ranged esp folder, and overwrite the Companion Neeshka esp file in the Oblivion\Data folder. DO NOT, I repeat NOT, use both. One or the other only.
3. DO NOT rename any of the files, or her voice may not work.
4. Run oblivion, and choose Data Files from the launcher.
5. Put a check next to Companion Neeshka.
6. Play!

=========================
05. Removal and Upgrading
=========================

Removing the mod is also part of upgrading to a new version. Following these steps for upgrading to a new version will ensure that everything works exactly as it should.

1. Load a savegame that has the mod active, and remove all the items from Neeshka's inventory that you want to keep, or else they're gone.
2. Save a new file that we'll call "SaveA".
3. Close Oblivion, delete the Companion Neeshka.esp file from the Oblivion\Data directory--------------(all versions)
---Delete the Companion Neeshka.esp folder out of your Oblivion\Data\Sound\Voice directory-------------(v1.6 and up)
---Delete the companion_neeshka folder from the Oblivion\Data\Meshes\Characters directory--------------(v2.0 and up)
---Delete the companion_neeshka folder from the Oblivion\Data\Textures\Characters directory------------(v2.0 and up)
---Delete all the files beginning with 1ncm from the Oblivion\Data\Textures\Creatures\Horse directory--(v2.1 and up)
---Delete all the files beginning with 1ncm from the Oblivion\Data\Meshes\Creatures\Horse directory----(v2.1 and up)
4. Load Oblivion, and load "saveA", ignoring any errors you get.
5. Resave to a new save that we'll call "SaveB", making sure that you are not anywhere inside the Bloated Float Tavern.
6. Load "SaveB" and the mod will be history.
7. Resave and reload one more time just to be safe. If you are not reinstalling the mod, stop here.
8. Install new version (see section 04. above), and load from your newest save. Pick Neeshka back up from the Bloated FLoat.
9. Play!

06. Companion Features
======================

This is a list of all Neeshka's functions, including the stuff you don't see. **Please look over this carefully**, so you know what to expect, otherwise you may think the mod is broken in some way from unexpected behavior.

--Dialogue Functions--

Neeshka 2.0's dialogue menu is now arranged to be just standard conversation, instead of looking like a table of contents or something. This lets most of her main functions be at the top level of the menu, for much faster and easier access. Below is the order they are in in the CS, but will be in a different order in-game. This has no effect on how they work, the game just likes to list them in alphabetical order.

The functions below are all on the top level of her dialogue menu. Now it takes 1 click to get her to follow, use her inventory, ect... instead of several. I will number them to make them easier to read, but the numbers are not in the game.

1. "Follow me, and equip your gear" - she will equip her best armor and weapons, and go into follow mode.

2. "Follow me, but go casual" - she will equip any clothing she has, unequip weapons, and go into follow mode. *note* if she has no clothing in her inventory, she will still wear armor to cover any exposed body parts.

3. "Wait here please" - she will equip her armor and weaps, and wander the immediate area for 72 hours, then return to the home point set by the player. If no home point has been set, she'll return to the Bloated Float where you found her.

4. "Wait here - no armor needed" - she will unequip her armor and weaps, and wander the immediate area for 72 hours, then return to the home point set by the player. If no home point has been set, she'll return to the Bloated Float where you found her. She will interract with other npc's in this mode.

5. "Can I check your gear?" - she gives you access to her inventory, and reactivates the player afterwards.

6. "We're done for now, see you later." - Neeshka will teleport to the home point set by the player, and return to her daily schedule. This let's her return home from places she wouldn't be able to otherwise, like Shivering Isles, Oblivion Gates, ect...

7. "You have a bounty? Here's 500g." - this only shows up if Neeshka has a bounty, and she doesn't have enough gold to cover it. You can give her gold in 500g increments, and she will automatically pay off her bounty. I wanted there to be some sort of bounty system in place, to conform to the theme of the game.

8. "Before we continue..."

8a. "Use melee weapons and get in close." - this sets her class to specialize in melee skills, to give high points in blade, blunt, block, heavy & light armor, ect... It does NOT mean that she will only use her melee weapons, it just means she will do the most amount of damage with them that she can. My advice... make sure she has a sword, shield, whatever armor you want her to have, and take away any ranged weapons. Otherwise, her fighting will kinda suck.

8b. "Use ranged weapons and stay back." - this sets her class to specialize in ranged skills, to give high points in marksman, blade, light armor, ect... It does NOT mean that she will only use her ranged weapons, it just means she will do the most amount of damage with them that she can. I put blade in this one, because sometimes if she gets cornered or just hated on, she will switch to a blade and use it. *However* if her sword is more powerful than her bow, she will want to always use it instead. My advice... give her a non-magical sword in the same line as her bow, or better yet one level below. If she has an elven bow, give her en elven blade, or maybe even fine steel. Then she will be happy to switch back to her bow when she meets another enemy. If you give her a glass sword with fire damage and a plain iron bow... well you can likely forget about her using that bow, and who could blame her. :p

8c. "If we need to split up, meet here." - sets an escape point for Neeshka to teleport to, where she will wait for 72 hours, then return home on her own. Here is an example for the perfect spot to use this. In the Arena Bloodworks, set her meeting spot somewhere in the room before going into the Arena proper. Once you're in it, summon her in as well. When the two of you have beaten the crap out of the Yellow Team, tell her to head back to the meeting spot, and she'll be there waiting on you. This is also best used in like the Paint world, Oblivion gates, and the like. Set the meeting spot before you go it, then send her back to it when you're done, but before you leave. I've heard companions can have inventory loss if summoned from a closed-world, I haven't seen it personally, but apparently it does happen.

8d. "Teleport to our meeting spot." - the "go to" command for the above function.

8e. "When we come across an enemy..."

8e-1. "Attack any enemy that gets close." - pretty self-explanitory. If set to this, she will attack anything that gets near.

8e-2. "Only attack enemies that attack us." - something has to attack you or her directly for her to jump in the fight. She won't run to help out town guards, friendly npc's, etc.

8e-3. "Let's avoid fighting, if possible." - this setting tells her not to fight at all, no matter what. useful if you want to just run and ignore everything that agros you.

8f. "Let's get personal..."

8f-1. "This is your new home, if you'd like." - set this area as Neeshka's home for her to return to if the player dismisses her. She will do daily routines in this area. Typically best to set this in the main living area of your favorite player home. Her sleep and afternoon markers will also be moved to this spot, after which they can be set up individually.

8f-2. "This is a nice spot in the afternoon." - sets a point for her to wander between 13:00 and 17:00. Recommended locations for this are in the town center so she can socialize, or somewhere right outside of your player home, like a courtyard, riverbank, or maybe your fancy library... just don't make this too far from her home location, as she only has 4 hours.

8f-3. "This bed looks comfy, yes?" - stand next to a bed you want her to sleep in at night, and she will, between 00:00 and 06:00. *note* the bed must not have ownership, and have an open side to sleep in, or she won't be able to use it. In that case, she will just wander around instead. Neeshka also likes to sleep in her undies (or naked, if you have nude body mods), and will dump all her gear just before climbing into bed. If you need access to it, simply wake her up, ask her to follow you, then access her inventory and it will all be there. *note* if you do not summon her, or ask her to follow, she will still be in "sleep" mode and her inventory will be empty. I've had a few ppl get a mild heartattack over that one... like omfg where is all my stuff?????!!!!11!!1 :D

8f-4. "Your horse can stable here." - set this outside your player home, and Neeshka's horse will wander near that spot when not in use.

8f-5. "How are your skills progressing?" - this opens up a menu-driven window that will give you info on her attributes, skills, disposition, health, magica, fatigue, ect... not much use really, but fun to look at sometimes regardless.

9. "Regarding your abilities..."

9a. "WIll you make me some arrows?" - Neeshka can fletch arrows using ingredients or upgrading arrows from lesser ones based on her marksman skill. Here is a typical example of how to use. You have 120 iron arrows, and 4 steel arrows. Set Neeshka to Ranged mode (to buff her marksman), and ask her to make arrows. Then tell her you want Dwarven ones. Oops her marksman isn't high enough to make those, and she tells you so. Ok, make silver ones then. She sees you only have 4 steel ones... blah. Oh 120 iron, these will do. She turns 20 of your Iron arrows into Silver ones, then asks you if you want more. You can keep clicking Silver until you have none left to upgrade. Now you have 0 Iron arrows, 4 Steel, and 120 Silver. I did this because I play sneaky little sharpshooter Bosmers, and yeah, you get the idea. Don't forget to set her back to Melee mode if that's what you use her in, or she won't be able to fight her way out of a wet paper bag. ^_^

9b. "Can you recharge my magic gear?" - put any magic equipment you want to recharge into your inventory, then select this. She will summon a varla stone and apply it to your magic gear, recharging it. Your inventory must be empty of varla stones for this option to appear. If you don't have any gear that needs charging, the stone will be removed, to prevent the player from getting a free varla stone.

9c. "Look around for some ingredients." - she will go on a search of the surrounding area, picking the plants clean. If there are none, or she has gotten them all in that area, she'll just stand still. When rdy to move on, just talk to her or summon her and tell her to follow again. *note* if something is out of her reach she will try to reach it anwyays, and will keep trying even though she can't. Just summon her back to you and ignore that area. Good example are the morning glories across the main bridge from the Imperial City. She will try to reach the highest ones and can't, but will try for them endlessly. Also, she will start with the closest item, then proceeed to gather based on *distance from orginal location*. Because of this, it's best not to put her in the center of the area, but one corner, so she constantly works outwards, instead of crossing one side to the other, back and forth.

9d. "Can I have a few repair hammers?" - if you have none, this option will show, and she will give you 5 of them. This is useful for keeping up the health on 2 sets of armor and weapons in a deep dungeon. Maybe you met some nasty and took a good beating, and your chest piece is at 1/4 health and Neeshka's shield is broken and lying on the ground, and you left your hammers in the chest at home. Well poo. Oh hey Neesh, got any hammers? WHy yes, yes I do. :)

9e. "I need a few lockpicks, here's 25g." - if you have at least 25 gold, this option will show up. You can buy 5 lockpicks from Neesh for 25 gold. The gold will not show up in her inv, so you can't just take it back.

9f. "Use a torch when we're in the dark." - pretty obvious. When the light is low, she'll pull out a torch. When you go into sneak mode however, she'll immediately put it out, but then re-light it when you come out of sneak. Only shows if you have told her not to use torches.

9g. "You can stop using a torch now." - as above. This just tells her not to use them anymore, and only shows if she has been told to use them. Don't put any extra torches you wanna keep up in her inventory, as they will be wiped out by the script with either mode. My advice... let her worry whether she has torches or not.

9h. "Keep me healed when not in combat." - when you're injured and not in a fight, she will cast a healing spell on you. It is a true restoration healing spell, so it should not cause any issues with broken health amounts. Only shows if you have told her not to heal you outside of combat.

9i. "Don't heal me outside of combat." - not much of an explination needed I wouldn't think. Does what it says, only shows if you have told her to heal you outside of combat. If you fall too far and you're half dead, well don't expect her to help you, she's just following orders. She will still keep herself healed, however. Why? Because I said she can. :p

9j. "Try to heal me during combat." - when fighting, and your health gets to 1/3rd the base max value or below, she will cast a healing spell on you. There are some limitations. She will not be able to cast the spell if... she is knocked out, low on magicka, or too far away from you. When you get low on health and want her to heal you, make sure you get reasonably close to her, and she'll heal you if she has the magicka. If not, she will heal you as soon as she has enough. Only shows if you have told her not to heal you during combat. This isn't an instant-save function, you can still easily die if you're not paying attention.

9k. "Don't heal me during combat." - as stated. She won't heal you from any damage during combat, only afterwards, after all weapons are sheathed. She will still try to keep herself healed during combat, however. Only shows if you have told her to keep you healed during combat.

9l. "Cast your AOE healing spell." - she will cast a targeted restoration spell on you. You can use this to heal NPC's, other companions, or your horses... whoever needs some healing. Just stand near them and get her to cast it.

--Other Functions--

Ok so 30 different dialogue functions alone. You got all that? :) Now it's time for all the other stuff she does that isn't controlled by dialogue. I'll go over things that are useful to know, but not *everything* that happens behind the scenes, or this section would be twice as long as it already will be.

Start Combat Spell - this is given to the player when you take her as a companion. It is a targeted spell you can shoot at whoever or whatever and she will engage him, her, or it... as long as it's not like a rock, or tree or something.

Stopping Combat - if Neeshka is in combat with something and you want her to break off, put your weapon away and get some distance between you and her. She will break combat and follow after you. Do this if you decide you want to run away instead of fight.

Summon Neeshka Spell - also given to you when you meet her. If Neeshka is not too far from you, she will run up and open dialogue with you, to see what you want. If she is in another cell or some distance away from you, she will teleport to you after a couple of seconds. At this point give her a follow mode, or when you close dialogue she will simply return to what she was doing. This is for when you are at home and just want to call her over to get something from her Inventory or whatever. Since she opens dialogue with you, 1 click will put her in follow mode, not too big of a chore, but someone will complain about it anyways, you watch.

Spirit the Wonderhorse - yeah Neeshka has her own horse, a black one, naturally. When you get on your horse, and her's is close by, she will go over to it and get on, then follow you on horseback. If her horse isn't nearby, she will summon it with a teleportation spell, then mount up. When following you on horseback, Neeshka will not dismount on her own if enemies are chasing you. If you dismount to fight however, she will go on the attack as soon as she's dismounted. Spirit will always make sure it is near the point the player dismounted their own horse. This ensures that when you are ready to ride again, it will be close by, so she doesn't have to walk too far to get back on it. If it is too far away, or nowhere around, she'll just summon it again. Spirit is essential too, so no worries there.

Neeshka can rid herself of that stupid double-face bug that followers get, so you should never see her with that problem. If you do, that means your load order is not the same as it was before.

She will also sneak when you do, and as mentioned before, if she was carrying a torch she will put it out right away, then use it again when no longer sneaking. Her sneak skill is also set to match the player's, so she won't be giving you away.

Her speed is also set to match the player's, so she can keep up with you. I set it to be the same so she won't be faster than you either. This causes followers to do weird stuttering when running, stopping and starting trying to maintain a constant distace from you. Annoying to see imo.

Her base health score will also be buffed to match the player's, if her base health is lower than your's. If your health is lower, her's will not change.

She pulls her weapon out when you do, and as mentioned before, you can use this to make her stop fighting and run. Put your weapon away and run, and soon she will be running behind you, ignoring the enemies giving chase.

Neeshka will also take a seat when you do, but sadly there's a problem with this. What happens is... she can only sit in chairs that are set as persistent in the game world. Which, sadly, are very few. Let's say you go to an inn, with 20 empty seats in the dining area, so you sit down. You then watch in confusion as Neeshka goes up the steps, around the corner, and takes a seat at the end of the hall. wtf, over? Well it's because the devs saw fit to only make that one seat persistent, thus this is the only one she can sit in. How about on one of the benches around the big nice tree in the town square of Chorrol? Nope, not one persistent spot. :/

Neeshka also likes to sleep in her undies, so when she gets near the bed you've set for her to sleep in, she'll dump all her gear. When she wakes up, or you summon her or wake her and tell her to follow, she'll get her stuff back. If you set her to sleep in a bed and she won't do it, then it likely has ownership. You'll have to pick another bed, or change the settings in the CS.

Neeshka can walk on water if the player does, or will swim when the player swims.

07. Known Limitations
=====================

Any known limitations that have no work-a-round will be placed here as they are discovered. Currently there are a few things which need mentioning.

When you summon Neeshka, she goes into a "find player" mode, in which she will activate the player, opening dialogue to let you know she's arrived. It is best to select a follow mode right then and there, otherwise when you close dialogue, she's going to turn around and begin to head home, and you'll be chasing her down to tell her to follow. There are reasons I did it this way that I don't wanna go through the trouble of explaining. Now that she is 1-click-to-follow, this should be a non-issue.

When you go to find Neeshka the first time, she will hang out in the tavern level of the Bloated Float by day, and sleep in a bedroll I added in the cabin area at night. She will sometimes take a short nap as well, so if she isn't upstairs, look downstairs. You can also find her with the compass marker when her quest is active. Her quest also never completes, so you can always use her quest marker to find her.

To use her in the Arena, set her an escape point in the training area somewhere. When you go through the load door into the Arena tunnel, she won't be there, but you can summon her in. Ready Neeshka's "Start Combat" spell, and target the enemy as soon as you can, so that she begins attacking them. When the fight is over, send her back to her meeting point via dialogue, then exit yourself. Also, it is best if you set her to ranged attacks and give her a bow, because the enemy will ignore her and go for you, and she'll spend most of her time chasing them instead of hitting them.

Although you can summon Neeshka into the Dark Brotherhood lair, I recommend against it. As soon as you load into another area down there, she will be attacked. If you summon her into the main room, then exit the well without going into the training or sleeping areas, she'll be fine, which is why I left this alone. I take her in there to talk to Ocheeva, just because it's cool to see her walking around in there with the other members. :) Still, it's best to let her wait outside by the well.

Always remember to set her escape point outside an Oblivion gate or other non-exit world, and send her to it before you close the gate, or exit the portal, or whatever. That way, she'll be waiting right outside for you when you're done. If you don't remember to set one, it will still be out in the world somewhere, so you'll just have to summon her back to you when you exit. If you forget to send her out before you close the gate, I've been told bad things can happen.

When using Neeshka's dialogue, if you click through too fast, it can sometimes prevent some of her scripts from running, and she will ignore the order you just gave her. For best results, don't cut her off in mid-speech. She has less now that she used to, and the top level menu system now makes using her much, much faster and easier, so this should be a non-issue as well.

DO NOT change the names of the files or folders, it will prevent her speech from working. Also, renaming any of the topics in her dialogue window will stop the speech from working for those topics. For best results, do not rename anything file or dialogue related, unless you wanna go through the hassle of getting her voice back.

If you find anything else, please let me know so I can try to fix it, or add it here.

08. Contact Info & Usage
========================

I'm not using Neeshka's email address any longer, it gets too much junk. Let's use the ES Forums instead, specific thread here...
http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1005925

Please let me know about any bugs or issues you find, so they may be corrected if possible. Please read through this readme file first, so you can be sure that what you are seeing is not normal behavior. If you are submitting an issue, please include as many details as humanly possible.

Have fun with her, and feel free to let me know what you think of the mod, or any part of it. Suggestions and helpful criticisms are welcome, flames or sillyness is not.

You can use any part of this mod for your own mod, no need to ask, just please give Neeshka and I credit. If you want to change anything at all in this mod for use in your own game, go right ahead. As for the parts of this mod borrowed from other mods, you'll need to ask the respective modders if you can use those specific parts. Also, please don't slap a new face on her and maybe some new voice files and release her as "your" mod, that's like... lame. People do find out, then they laugh at you behind your back.
