There is a BAIN friendly High Res version of this mod here.

Also includes a filter version for maximum compatibility with UOP and Knights.

Does this mean that the filter version doesn't work with the bookplacement mod? If I have KotN and UOP installed, do I have to use this version? If not, what possible issues will it cause?
      Thanks!

Hey! According to Vortex, the mod both relies on and is incompatible with bookplacing.esm.

Just realized that this was a problem on my part, I had both esps enabled for this mod. My bad! If you have this problem, make sure that you don't have both esps enabled.

Vortex says this mod depends on "bookplacing.esm"

Does this mod require that other mod to work?

Loot warns against dirty edits, is it safe to clean with TES4Edit?

[EDIT: thought that the whole Cell section should be deleted, but apparently there's more to it, read the next post.]

      Yes, it is safe.

However, LOOT is better for later Bethesda games. For Oblivion BOSS is the best as it has a large handwritten masterlist, while LOOT is automatic, and for Oblivion this may cause problems as certain plugins just MUST be ordered in a specific way to work properly. I had CTD when I used LOOT after BOSS, but I use many mods, you may be safe if using only a handful.

The changes to the Cell sections are intentional according to the mod author:

"Some cells have been altered where there were whole rows of books upside-down. I didn't clean up any clutter or move the books."

But sure if you don't want a little bit better book placement it's safe to delete it.

But one thing you should definitely delete is the cell WarehouseBooks in "Block 9" "Sub-Block 2" because the changes to that cell is the reason why this mod can't be merged into the bashed patch and requires an esp slot. That cell is only a room in the testing hall so you won't lose any content by deleting it either.

You should definitely clean those UDRs and ITMs in xEdit.

Even one UDR needs to be deleted manually.

There are 2 ESP files with this mod, do I need both? I CTD right after I launch Oblivion after installing this, whereas before I didn't.

EDIT - I figured out the problem - there's a Book Jacket BP ESP, don't check that ESP if you don't have the Book Placement mod; I unchecked it and Oblivion launched as it should.

That's neat to know, thank you for that. Although I'm sure in OBMM/Wrye bash there will be a prompt that will be initiated warning the user that an esp can not be checked as it is missing a major dependency. So should be safe to either leave/delete unwanted ESP as it is not a core function of the mod.
