Is there any chance we could get a version of this that has Hand to Hand damage calculated based on Speed instead of Strength? I get the reasoning used, but it still sucks to have the skill level and damage using different stats. It means that if you want to use Hand to Hand as your melee damage skill then your damage is going to be very weak unless you also level Blunt or Blade. Not ideal for roleplaying or leveling efficiently.

Or would someone be able to tell me how I could make the change myself? I'm experienced as a mod user but have never made/edited mods myself and would have no idea how to go about this.

Regardless I love the mod and will be using it anyway. Ty alexpublius! And to anyone else who can point me in the right direction.

Load TES4Edit program (xEdit variation for Oblivion); if you use MO2 then load it through MO2 so it would
      see all your plugin structure.
Go to this esp on the left side of the editor -> Skill, select SkillHandToHand, change Attribute field in the right side of the editor. And change attribute descriptions in this esp while at it too, easy to do in a similar way there.
It's very simple and precise, unlike the Construction Set.

Hi, great mod! Really enjoy it :)
But there seems to be an issue with version 1.1 and ascension.
I followed the instructions and the acrobatic skills were listed as a speed skill, not endurance.
Once I started using version 1.0, everything started working correctly.
I used the ascension esp version each time and made sure ascension is above this mod.

    Again, thanks, amazing mod.

    Simply divine ! Thank you!
I was recently discussing with a friend about how Oblivion ruined what Morrowind did best about the Skills argument.

    Also a little curiosity question:
If there was a Unarmored Skill in Oblivion, what attribute you would associate it with ?

For Unarmored, definitely Speed. Here's the description for Morrowind:
The Unarmored skill lets one avoid or reduce injury during combat while not wearing any armor by evading, deflecting, or absorbing blows
Evading & deflecting require speed. 'Absorbing blows' might quality as Endurance, but surviving in mortal combat without armor mainly requires that your body be where the other guy's weapon isn't.

Thanks; I'm glad you enjoyed the mod!

I do share the same thought although i find a big dilemma for the Unarmored/LightArmor switched attributes.
Maskar (the nines bless his mod) take Unarmored under Agility and that would have sense in Morrowind since it would allowed a better chance to avoid physical attacks but i can't find much use of it in Oblivion gameplay mechanics.

I was going to ask you, only if it was in your interest of course, if you would create a "patch"/version for Maskar Unarmored Skill.
Making the Light Armor Skill Related Attribute from Speed to Agility while Unarmored being putted, like in Morrowind, under the Speed attribute (quite easy through LINK).
So HeavyArm. takes Endurance, LightArm. takes Agility and Unarm. Takes Speed.

As I'm not a modder but rather a translator and I wouldn't even know where to start but i will definitely try in these days regardless since I didn't know it was possible till i met your mod.

Also another big question: the skills that you modified are untouched in regard of the specialization categories? (Meaning H2H is still under Warrior/ Acrobatics is still under Thief/ etc)

(i miss Morrowind Skills sigh also sorry for the big comment, I'm kinda talkative in these subjects)

In the photo where it shows what each level does for each skill from your mod or NorthernUI? Also, does the sneak eye have a vanilla option? I'm thinking of switching over to it, but im not sure how buggy it is or if it works well with most mods.

Yup, the info box is from Northern UI. I'm not sure about the sneak eye question, though. Better to ask that question in the Northern UI posts/forum instead.

Nice idea, found a little error though, in the endurance description, you forgot to put acrobatics as a one of the three governing attributes

I just double-checked the esp, and both the basic and Ascension versions change the sAttributeDescEndurance (in Game Settings) to say "Governs the skills of Acrobatics, Block, and Heavy Armor."

Is there another entry in a different setting that also describes Endurance in the game? If so, then it'd probably also describe Strength & Speed so I'd need to change the entry for all three.

Alternately, it's possible there's an issue with your load order. GAR changes only two elements -- the governing attributes of the skills, and the text that describes them. There shouldn't be any incompatibilities, so it should be safe to put GAR at or near the very end of your load order. That should ensure that the changes, including the endurance description, will display properly in the game.

      Thanks for using my mod!

I might have to check the load order, maybe its because the ascension esp is below this one? thanks for the response, im using the ascension compatibility version so no clue

That's definitely it. Ascension also changes the sAttributeDescEndurance setting, so you'll want to put GAR below Ascension.esp in your load order.
