Nevermind I got it to work, thanks alot for the mod it's amazing! My issue was that I didn't install OBSE correctly. I thought you can install OBSE through nexus mod manager.
Can anyone help, is there any way to get this working with the vanilla version of northernui? So the one that just adds controller support and not the ui changes? Thanks
Can anyone help me? It doesn't seem to work for me. I've downloaded and redownloaded the game and the files and tried using my controller wirelessly and plugged in. I downloaded the game through gog and have the newest version of obse. Everything is running correctly and I even downloaded the northernui hotkey mod which also works without a problem. It just seems that I can't get any rumble during combat or any action that should get a rumble. I've been troubleshooting all day but I just can't find any solution. I would be extremely grateful if anyone came along with an idea or solution!
Thank you so much for this mod!! It's a real game changer having fell in love with Oblivion on Xbox.
Just one thing I'm experiencing is a delay in vibrations with an Xbox controller after first loading the game or immediately after quick travel. Vibration won't function and then after a few seconds to a minute (seems it may depend on how processor intensive the area is but not sure) - vibrations from my previous actions start firing quickly in a row, until it catches up and vibration functions normally.
Wondering if you have any idea what could be causing this. Could it be too many OBSE plugins loaded? Thanks!
EDIT: It seems this only happens when my controller is connected with bluetooth (which I was doing when using my laptop). On my desktop I use a wireless controller adapter for windows and there's no issue. I just tested connecting via bluetooth on my desktop instead and the delay cropped up again.
I can't get this to work for some reason, I have an Xbox 360 controller but get no rumble during combat or anything else. I have xOBSE and NorthernUI installed and working no idea why this won't work. I installed it via MO2 if it matters.
Edit: I fixed this issue by disabling Steam Input for my controller.
Thank you so much for this mod. I'm playing Oblivion for the first time and immediately noticed how dull the combat feels. As someone who grew up with consoles and spent 3 decades playing on them, rumble support is something I don't like to be without. Endorsed. ?
I literally was just looking for a mod like this yesterday. How is this even possible?? There's literally no longer any reason whatsoever to play Oblivion on console ever again. Thank you so so much for this.
Hmm... the mod, though, seems to cause my controller to periodically disconnect (seems there's a chance for disconnect every few seconds and every time it rumbles). Anyone else experiencing this
This mod uses the official xinput library. If this mod has issues, your controller has issues with input. Northern UI seems to use something else for some controller functions, so you may be experiencing issues there. Otherwise your controller doesn't support xinput correctly.
Ahh, thank for for the insight. So is there a way to fix this? I do have another controller I’d be able to try, too, but, I’d suspect, if this controller is having troubles, that one would, too, since they’re basically the same controller.
I haven't tried the mod yet, but I wonder if this is a game-specific or mod-specific issue. I do remember playing a game that would often cause my controller to spaz when rumble occurred. I thought I'd read through the posts before trying this rumble mod L. Hopefully I won't have trouble with my DualSense.
Update: I've been using this mod for a good number of hours now and haven't experienced any issues. Maybe using a different emulation program will help. I'm playing the GoG version with a DualSense controller and DS4Windows. I've had some random freezing and spazziness a couple times, but it wasn't rumble-related and happened before I installed this mod. It's pretty rare that it does happen.
Thanks for this! So far I only tested it by fighting the Vault Guardian Imps in the Frostcrag Spire's vault area, & it works! After the 15 minute cooldown is over I'm going to endorse.
I saw you PM me of the same question, I'm just going answer it from here, the controller I'm currently using for PC games is a Microsoft Xbox controller, Shock Blue color.
