Any survivors still out there? Version 9.02 uploaded. The only real change is a couple of fixes to the HDR shader to prevent broken brightness/exposure in certain conditions. HDR settings have also been remapped and recommended settings are as follows: Tonemapping =0.5 (controls exposure) TonemappingBlur = 0.1 (bloom amount) TonemappingColor = 0.9 (adaptation time) Linearization = 1.0 (adaptation strength) Optional config file has been deleted er I mean "archived" for now as refactoring between OR.dll versions could prevent the game from launching. Several HDR settings are no longer dependent on weather settings so this is less of an issue, though still quite annoying...
Well, i've handled the crap out of this by putting things in their respective ORC folders one by one, and manually copying over recommended changes, and i'm about to find out if my game will still boot and look awesome. If i never come back to complain and\or laugh about it failing catastrophically, it means it's working and i'm too distracted to bother with replies.
Hey, I have been away from oblivion for a while and see that lot's has changed, but these effects are a must have when using OR. Are there any plans to rerelease this mod for the latest OR 10.1.1?
this is a pretty niche mod. because people don't use the newest OR (because it doesn't exist anymore) and because it was just a buggy pos cluttered with a ton of unnecessary features and gameplay changes
any chance you could make a patch for OR 6.2.0 or ORC and upload it here?
Keep in mind the older version of OR AE is easier to do.
If you download OR Additional Effects-v0-93 (under the older files section),
Afterwards,it's just a matter of:
[1] overwriting the respective shader folders included with ORC. with the content of the downloaded OR AE v0.93 archive
[2] then recompile
(by setting in "ORC.ini"):
[Develop]CompileShaders=0 -> (change to "1" to enable) CompileEffects=0 -> (change to "1" to enable) [3] save changes in "ORC.ini" file, launch game once to re-compile
(while compiling you get a black screen, be patient, wait a minute or so)
and when game launches, you're good to go.
[4] Revert what you previously had changed in "ORC.ini" and save the file:
CompileShaders=1-> (change back to "0" ) CompileEffects=1 -> (change back to "0" ) Ps:
Currently I use latest ORC + OR Additional Effects-v0-93 Works like a charm.
Ps#2:
If you want to use the Latest version of OR AE (Additional Effects for OR 9 v2.01),
you'd have to take the additional step to place the files in the correct folders (since OR 9 uses different folder structure the ORC).
thanks for being so quick, I already checked and everything works fine, except for the fog, using the latest version I got a gray wall (I took the recommended settings on the main page)
upd: took parameters from ORL and everything works fine

Yes, I saw your post perfectly showing your issue in the screenshots you shared on ORC's page.
[1] --> DO NOT use the settings suggested here on the main page,
This is critical, those just won't work,
- Reason: this is because many other shaders that come with ORC, have since been tweaked and thus altered in how they operate.
[2] If I recall correctly, you'll have issue's with latest version of OR AE Fog alone. And can only operate properly unless you'll use some other shaders included with the newest version or OR AE
[3] I just checked my notes:
- you'd need these effects: Godrays + VolumetricFox
AND the HDR shader from OR AE's archive
(because these operate rather inter-weaved)
[4] + in addition, you'd also have to tweak and meticulously tweak all related the *.ini settings manually in-game.
[5] I would suggest to save yourself such a monstrous task and try instead fog from OR Additional Effects-v0-93,
And as you can see by many screenshots I've shared here on the Nexus, it will look good with ORC.
(all my recent screenshots are ORC + OR AE v0.93 Fog).
[5] When using OR AE v.0.93's Fog instead, please try my "fog.ini" settings below:
[World] Exponent=0.4 ColorCoeff=1.4 Amount=0.15
[Interior] Exponent=2 ColorCoeff=2 Amount=1
[ImperialSewers03] Exponent=1.8 ColorCoeff=4.5 Amount=0.8 PS: Observe ORC now uses volumetric fog for interiors too.
It's hard-coded in and managed by ORC.dll, so your *.ini will change accordingly with first game launch after installed OR AE's fog and recompiled shaders.
with OR 9.1.1 the volumetric fog doesnt work as expected, in first person mode, drawing and shooting with a bow makes the fog appear in your face obstructing the view. Also god rays stop working
Love the mod it looks amazing. I was wondering if you would be willing to create a mod similar to this but for users without OR? I was hoping to find a mod that recreates Skyrim's Mountain fog, I believe that it will make the landscapes look more realistic from a distance.
Volumetric Fog does not play nice. You have to adjust its settings. The values provided on this page do not make for a good image. I found that reducing "ColorCoef" to 1 removes flickering. "Exponent" at 4 looks good. But "Amount" needs to remain low or there will be more flickering.
