OR Additional Effects
Some additional effect and shader files for use with Oblivion Reloaded, now updated to OR v.9 and greatly expanded. This package currently includes: a port of Matso Bokeh for Oblivion; a new version of OR's volumetric fog; improved HDR; LUT-based colour grading; dithered godrays; and faked refraction for OR's rain effect. The effects are to be used as optional replacements for the Depth of Field, Fog, Godrays, Rain and Cinema effects, and the HDR shader packaged with OR.

Main Features

HDR
  • Improved bloom appearance by Luluco250
  • ACES tonemapping operator

Recommended settings:
Tonemapping =0.5 (controls exposure: higher = brighter)
TonemappingBlur = 0.1 (bloom amount: higher = more bloom)
TonemappingColor = 0.9 (adaptation time: higher = slower)
Linearization = 1.0 (adaptation strength: higher = darker/more contrast)

Cinema
  • Color-grading with 3D LUT (commonly used by Skyrim and FO4 ENB presets)
  • Chromatic-aberration/lens distortion

Depth of Field
  • This is a more "cinematic" bokeh-style blur, intended to simulate aperture shape with hexagonal highlights based on luminance
Fog
  • Based on Alenet's exponential distance fog for OR, but with the addition of:
  • Height-based fog accumulation
  • Directional sun-tinting (the fog volume will "illuminate" according to sun position and colour)
  • Animated turbulence
  • Fog-based blur and debanding

Recommended settings:
Exponent = 4
ColorCoeff = 1
Amount = 16
MaxDistanceValue = 500000

Godrays
  • Noise-based dithering to eliminate striping/ladder effect at low sample settings (allows smoother rays with less performance impact)

Recommended settings:
TimeEnabled=0
SunGlareEnabled= 0
LightShaftPasses= 16
RayIntensity= 1
RayLength = 1
RayDensity = 36
RayVisibility = 1
Luminance = 1
GlobalMultiplier = 1
RayR = 1
RayG = 1
RayB = 1
Saturate =0

Rain
  • Faked refraction effect to make rain look more... rainy

Some effects can be tweaked as normal by using the ingame OR settings menu. In addition, there are some extra settings that can be modified in the effect files, if you wish to do so. You will need to set "CompileEffects =1" in your OR config to apply any changes made within the effects files themselves. The Fog effect in particular is dependent on weather settings, which may need further tweaking to get the most out of the new features.

NOTE: Because OR 9 no longer uses individual settings files for effects, I have added a OblivionReloaded.dll.config file to optional downloads. This is effectively a WIP preset and requires NAO for weather settings. Backup your own config file before overwriting.

ANOTHER NOTE: This badly needs a detailed readme with instructions on how to cuztomize the effects files themselves. This is on my To Do List!

Requirements

A working installation of Oblivion Reloaded, which requires either the latest OBSE or xOBSE by llde

Installation
  • Back-up the files in Oblivion/Data/Shaders/OblivionReloaded/
  • Drag and drop the contents of the downloaded file into your Oblivion directory
  • Run Oblivion and enable the effects through OR's ingame menu

Uninstallation
Overwrite with your backed-up files or the original effects from the OR package.

Permissions

Feel free to use as a resource for your own OR presets, but please credit the authors listed below and in effects file headers.

Feedback and Support
Post a comment and I will try to help, though there may be a delay in getting back to you. In short, these files do not have the ability to break your computer or Oblivion set-up; they are slightly more complex than OR defaults so may incur a very mild performance impact. As stated above, appearance in game will depend on your particular weather and OR settings.
