Obvious question, but no one's asked it: Does this mod stop companions from fighting, too? If not, they'll just resume the fight, and I'm back where I started. ;-)

Well... it does now, in the new version I just released. You just need to change the related value in the included INI.

If I use this key while in combat, will the hostile NPC then initiate combat again as soon as he/she detects me or will he stay hostile/neutral?

If you try to use the key while the enemy is right in front of you, they will briefly stop the fight and sheathe their weapons, but then immediately resume the fight afterwards. However, it's actually possible to render the enemies relatively peaceful by holding the key, though they may appear jittery due to wanting to start a fight, but being repeatedly prevented from doing so. It's up to you whether or not to exploit this.

Alright, in that case I could also just use "tcai", does the same without key spamming.
Anyways, still nice to stop the Bruma guards from chasing me down to Anvil, although it's surely a nice vacation visit for a guard.

This is a cheat, you can use it to end combat where you would be killed and run away.

It's only a cheat if the player decides to use it as a cheat. It's up to the user's discretion whether they want to abuse this functionality.
