YW Oi, because fire magic effect not use 'bolt projectile' nor 'spray effect' just like Tiawar said, I quoted it in this mod description page. maybe the Oblivion devs was in hurry rushing near deadline when released this beloved game and they made a mistake, result is unfinished product~
I KNEW IT!! Oblivion shock or frost spells are so overpowered that they don't just kill your character, they kill your game. Shock or frost spells have caused CTDs for me I swear. And some other spells, like when 5 necromancers cast illusion simultaneously. I'll try this out whenever I get around to installing AoG.
yeah... this is one of my long time research, a journey to eliminate bugs & ctd in Oblivion (Quest) but sadly Tiawar left the scene right now... he said that to me a month ago well yeah, feel free to write anything or questions I would be glad to answers that~ also regarding your spell ctd... this mod might help a bit more
This sounds really interesting but also disquieting and worrying.
I never had problems with shock and frost spells.
Is this problem affecting every game version and player of Oblivion or is it only present if you use a particular combination of mods or Shader effects?
And what about the resistances and weaknesses which are connected with frost and shock spells? Are they still correctly applied if I use this patch?
hello again Hesinde ! well... in my setup I could reproduce this ctd 100% especially for frost magic effect, so I believe this is a truth and fact about another Bethesda mess... it's just another uncomplete features / bugs. as for shock effect I could Not replicate it since its always comes randomly... but I'm pretty sure the cause of ctd is flag 'bolt' in shock magic effect properties. lucky me now that my games is rarely get any ctd nowadays, to the point I got bored playing Oblivion right now lol you said that you never had problem with both magic effects, yeah I am well aware with that since everybody setup is different... that's why I wrote this statement in mod description --> "...if your game is stable as it is just ignore this message..." about resistance and weakness of both magic effects it will be still original, because this mod did Not alter that. This patch only modified No flag bolt projectile, disable frost fog effect, and change their models with better safe alternative...
heya again Oii ! Yes, this mod can be merged to Bashed Patch for more free esp slot, just make sure that this patch is the conflict winner in your load order (in case there is other magic effect replacer in your modlist) but if you not using Bashed Patch, you need to load this esp just after every magic effect replacer mods (especially the one that change FRDG and SHDG)

Should it be merged into the bashed patch?
