Well, I finally got around to it! The latest version has an alternate .esp file which omits cosmetic changes to those staves with unique appearances and icons, e.g. Wabbajack. I've also packed the meshes and textures in a BSA file for ease of use.
Maybe you could make a version without the replacers for the staves that are daedric artifacts, since they already have unique models (and also like Staff of Everscamp and Hromir's Ice Staff).
Will you pack your mods so that they can be installed via Wrye Bash, without Wrye Bash users having to re-organize the package manually?
This is what it currently looks like in Wrye Bash:

This is what it looks like when the Screenshots folder, Change Log.txt and Vanilla Staff Replacer ReadMe.txt are moved into the 'Data' folder in the package (now can be installed in Wrye Bash):
I don't use Wrye Bash myself, but I'll try to get around to it. May take a while as I've not been well recently. All I need to do is move everything into the Data folder, yes?
Just so you know, if I take long time to reply I'm not being rude. I don't have a home internet connection, so I can only go online at the library. That means I'm AFK most of the time.
the only stave I don't like is the necro one. It is too 'scenic' for my taste. Doubt very much that a necromancer would go all around with a skull implanted on their stave
The skull-topped staves aren't necessarily for necromancers - they just denote staves with a Turn Undead power, and it seemed a shame not to use them. It's all very subjective, of course. If you're not keen on them, just choose another model in the CS - I'm quite partial to the Varla stones myself!
I'm sure there must be some way to turn it into a light source - I may look into that when I finish my current campaign. What I do know is that the central disk of Mankar Camoran's staff is animated, so it looks like the surface of the sun boiling - very impressive! There's also a subtle particle effect around the head of the Sanguine Rose.
thank you for the improvements and fixes, I loved trolff's mod
we don't need also Oblivion Staff Replacer by Strike105X and trollf right?
also, BOSS doesn't recognize Vanilla Staff Replacer.esp but it can be imported in the Bashed Patch, so does the load order matter for importable .esps?
also what happened to that staff from trollf with the long leaves? I liked that a lot
Nope, this is a replacer for the replacer. Not sure about the load order question as I don't use BOSS (or even know what it is!) The alternative models and icons for the Staff of Indarys are still included in the mod, so you can quickly change its appearance in the CS if you like.
