Update13: There is not much to do anymore for this mod, as it looks perfect in my eyes. But I made a lot of optimizations for performance and stability for this update. I also rearranged some plants and added the Far Cry inspired grass to some regions.
For all who want to know about my water settings: shoreFactorto 1.0 turbidity to 10.0 inScattCoeffto 0.12 inExtCoeff_Rto 0.12 inExtCoeff_Gto 0.14 inExtCoeff_Bto 0.34 depthDarkness to 0.0

Jungle mods are cool- very cool. (Or should I say steamy?) Thanks for all your work in turning Cyrodiil tropical, this and your animals mod are proof modders follow the lore better than Bethesda a bit too close for comfort.
On that note, Elbethien, I've noticed you made a version that only alters the Blackwood/Leyawiin area. I'm curious- how did you do this? And would it be possible to do something similar for the Nibenay area? Pre-Oblivion lore stated that except for Colovia (Area from the west coast to Chorrol and Skingrad, with presumably the Jeralls as well), Cyrodiil was as much of a jungle as this mod makes it. Having a version that doesn't apply to Colovia and the Jeralls would make this really close to accurate those descriptions- and multiple mods (yours included) already get us even closer to that dream.
Yes. It could begin just down in the river valley below Cheydinhal and south from that river. And from the Great Forest part below the hills of Chorrol and south from there.
I believe someone would have to replace trees and bushes
Years later but I wish for the same thing. It'd increase the variety of the game so it's not just either entirely Jungle or entirely Forest. I would love for Colovia andd the Jeralls to be more of the classic Oblivion forest areas, with Nibenay going southwards being Jungle.
This mod is fantastic! Installed because like many, I'm going for a pre-Oblivion lore aesthetic but what really makes this mod special is how absolutely dense the jungles are. It feels truly dangerous stepping off of the beaten path, you might wade through thick foliage only to find yourself face to face with a dangerous enemy. Or, they can jump out onto the road and the only indication is the battle music coming on but you have no idea where it's going to come from. This changes the game dynamic in a really fun way. As such, it pairs amazing with any number of mods that increase monster encounters out in the wild. Thank you!
All I can say is, "WoW! I've been using your mods for years... started because lore says Cyrodiil is tropical (mostly). I hate bamboo in real life, and I remove it; still this reminds me of my years in Thailand. Only thing missing is a few mango trees... and maybe Beetlenut lol Your stuff definitely boosts the pleasure of the game!
Hi. Im downloading this with the nexus mod manager but its not working? Its showing up in the "mods" category but not in "plugins". The only part of the mod thats working is the dense flora update. Could anyone please help, this looks like a great mod.
Beautiful mod, using this on the GPD Win2 in 2019 with Qarls Parallax. Makes the game look amazing, comparable to skyrim. Though i have to set the minGrass to 130-140, cause ouch it brings my FPS just below my 45 FPS target.
Wish there was a slightly more optimized version, maybe slightly lower poly trees or plants or something. Since it's be nice to have more plants even if it is lower poly, since 130 is a bit sparse. I'm not a modeler so i can't do this myself sadly. minGrass at 100 and still reaching 45fps would be amazing. I could lock my fps to 30, but that's just slow enough to be uncomfortable.
Good in theory, except the game engine doesn't recognize object occlusion based stealth. So I can't see my hand in front of my face but npcs can take my head off with an arrow at a few hundred yards...
I'm not starting an argument, because you're, of course, right. But try looking at it this way: In Vanilla, NPCs never catch you wrong-footed, unless you're really, really, careless, like, not paying attention at all. In the long run, this is pretty annoying, isn't it.
In my experience with JFE, it's like this: If you can't see a thing because of the damn jungle (and it is this thick only in, maybe, a tenth of the map of Cyrodiil), best assume that someone is aiming an arrow at you. Because, you know, they do. And stick to the roads!
Also, consider trying the optional JFE Dense Flora, because then it's even more immersive in this way.
Like the great work your done I would like too use your jungle in my small island i made years ago and only just found it , without changing the plants or textures in Oblivion. I want to turn it into a small Jungle island with the right animals too go with it.
I will be away for a week. Do you think you can fix it yourself? If this problem still exists in my fixed update13, you can open the nif with nifskope and delete the mesh that has no texture. It does not belong there, that is why it has no texture.

Is there something I can do to remove that grass? Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Didn't see the fix in the downloads.
