I've used this mod for a long time, but recently I started a new game and for some reason it won't let me hire the shopkeeper. I have 5,000g and when I click to hire her it says there isn't enough for her salary and fires her. I know she's paid from the earnings chest, but the store hasn't opened yet so it's empty, and I can't put money in it. It's been a while since I've started a new game. Am I missing a step, or is it a bug?
Edit after a bit more investigating. I think it's because I tried to hire her on payday because when I waited twenty-four hours it worked. So definitely a bug. But one with an easy workaround. Leaving message here in case someone else has the same problem.
RANDOM IDEA Work in the shop as your own shopkeeper. When there's no shopkeeper hired, activate the lectern to "Open the Shop," which automatically skips to the end of the day and calculates earnings.
I can't find the shop. The quest marker leads me to the south gate of Chorrol, and if I leave, the quest marker then indicates to go back into Chorrol. Can anyone tell me where it is?
There's alot of things it could be. How many mods you have in your load order, what kinds of mods (its easy to mess up your game by installing a bunch of mods without properly sorting them and stuff). This mod works fine for me.
Hello I am currently playing Morroblivion and have installed the mod. The store is there and the seller in the pub only does not start the mod nor does the guy get involved in a conversation, has only the preacher as an option. Happy new year Silana
Hello, wow the nostalgia I get from reading these posts and the description page for the mod. To think that I released this mod over 8 years ago. Do people still play it? I never played oblivion again cause I can't play the game without wanting to mod it, the same happens with Skyrim, I have an almost complete version of this mod for Skyrim but never actually released it (it's been sitting on my dropbox for over 4 years now). I even want to make something like this for Morrowind, but I don't know if people would still play it nowadays. I think I will try to release the Skyrim version, just wanted to gauge the interest for this, if there is any still.
I know it's been 10 days--but I saw this mod and this is just the kind of mundane stuff I love for these kinds of games (I haven't tried it out yet, but I'm super excited to do so when I get the chance too).
Please share your Skyrim version! I would love to play it when I'm ready to play Skyrim.

Just wanted to reply saying I definitely still play Oblivion and this mod is honestly my favorite addition to the game, something like this should've been in the game from the start and you did it so well!
No Oblivion install is complete without adding this and I've done it ever since. This one is not only a keeper, it adds immense joy. Thank you for the hard work you did so many years ago! This mod is a treasure!
Reinstalled Oblivion for a trip down nostalgia lane today and your mod was among the first dozen I reinstalled so yes your mods still being played even in 2020.
Heck yeah I play Morrowind still. Why not, people are still churning out mods for it. Matter of fact I downloaded a vendors mod for Morrowind because I was tired of collecting high value items and only getting peanuts for it, and that includes the scamp in Caldera. Only ever played the vanilla version of Oblivion so I thought I would give it a modded go and I am definitely going to try out yours.
This mod fills a particular niche that I don't think much if anything else in skyrim or oblivion really satisfies. It's always been one of my favorites for oblivion and having it in skyrim would be great.
I use Better Cities just for a few areas, Chorrol is not one of them. The mod doesn't seem to register that so I am not getting the store. Is there a way to turn off it recognizing Better Cities entirely? That would fix my issue.
The mod ran flawlessly for several in game weeks, then suddenly stopped working. The store is still there, my items are still in it's inventory, the shopkeeper and guard are still present... everything is accounted for, but nothing gets sold, expenses don't come out, taxes don't get withdrawn... I even went into the .ini and changed the settings of the vender to allow repairing and changed the guard to essential, but those changes didn't get implemented in-game

Also, I was considering making a similar mod for Skyrim, but hearing you have an almost complete version is wonderful news. Saves me a lot of work!

How do I start using the store?
Thanks for the info and the 'heads-up' about the patch... I didn't even know there was a patch...
Cheers :)
