    If I could yet rain Kudos upon you, this would be my desire, as this is Something I have been wanting for some time now. LHammonds, you've come through once again. I only just posted a request for this sword, So glad to see one in existence! Now Ruthala can finally wield her weapon, no other would do!

    I don't have the time to make the script but it certainly does sound like a great idea.

    For that scripted idea to really fit, it would need to be further modified so that one that is unskilled with blades has a low chance to ignore armor but greater skills increase the chance to make a good hit (bypass armor)...however, it should never be 100% bypass armor. Probably 5% up to 40% chance based on blade skill and maybe agility. I just don't think even a master of that sword can swing it at you like a mad man and be able to hit the very few weak points in the armor every time. Really needs to be a skilled and aimed shot...however Oblivion does not have the mechanics for aiming like that though it has to be calculated like everything else in the game...a roll of the dice.

    nice looking blades, I always love seeing realistic swords added to the game (not that I have any problem with the massive fantasy swords, they have their place as well). Maybe I'll download for my next character, I don't think it will fit in with the nord I'm currently playing with. I'll try to remember to comeback and rate after I've played with it in game.

    The Estoc is a sword for someone with a taste in the élégant.

    Keep in mind that each Estoc was custom-made for each person and varied greatly from sword to sword. The reference image was just that...a reference. I did not set out to make it identical. If I did, the crossguard curves would have been facing the opposite direction. I also wanted the tip to be pristinely sharp rather than just small...hence no tapering off at the edge.

    Scabbards were not initially used with these swords either...however, they did start making them later on. They were mainly just stuck in the belt since the edges were not sharp...hence the longer crossguard. If this sword is "liked" by the community, you might see other modders making variants such as with scabbards, different hilts and so on.

    grip is way to wide compared to the real sword and it does have a blade just in case but not really one able to slash though anything thicker then cloth

    That shape would be very effective at piercing chainmail rings or slipping between armor plates, but the tip might be likely to break off against bone or when heavy armor plates catch it between them and flex it. As with other things in swordmaking, there are tradeoffs, hence the many designs.

    I like the understated hilt, which looks like something a combatant might actually want to use rather than something a king would display in a castle. :-)

    I am always a fan of weapon mods that are of plausible size and shape, not so much "did it exist in Earth history" (since this isn't Earth) but rather, "does it make sense within the bounds of TES world's physics. This one does.

    @DarkRuler 2500
    Well this particular type of sword is supposed to be thinner, as it has no real blade and is used for stabbing not slicing. Like a rapier, and in LHammonds' description he explains it's meant for piercing chainmail and weak points on platemail.
