I swapped two words by accident... It is supposed to be "If the rock is larger than the acorn which would counter balance the difference in weight for the acorn"

I laughed when I read "If you throw a rock and a acorn with the EXACT SAME FORCE the acorn WILL go farther because it takes more kinetic energy to move the rock because of its MASS."

You are forgetting, lighter objects are more prone to air resistance; same goes with larger objects. The angle you throw the objects at will also affect it.

If the acorn is larger than the rock which would counter balance the difference in weight for the rock, both would essentially go the same distance. Before you can calculate the distance, you would first have to take the air pressure into factor and calculate how much resistance each object would receive. So even if both met equal standards at the start, the larger object would have a disadvantage in the long run due to air resistance.

I will be testing this mod out. I only use things that seem like they match the game.

You think the bow somehow can exert more force for a heavier arrow to somehow compensate for the differences in arrow weight. That is entirely WRONG, they exert the same level of acceleration irregardless of the arrow.

Believe me, I have been through this arguement many times on the official forums.

um it doesnt matter bcause the differences in weight of an arrow is so slight it would not affect the acceleration of the arrow. therefore Miraren is right this isnt how it would work in real life. <img class=">

I agree with you to some degree. The differences in my mod are not that great to begin with, however there is differences, thats the point. If you try it you will see there are no massive differences. If you try it and still dont get it than you have missed the point.

I dont get why you think he is right. In real life there is a big difference between a Olympic archery arrow, which has no arrowhead to keep it as light and fast as possible and a modern day hunting arrow, which has a huge, high damage barbed head. You fire those two from the same bow and the archery arrow is going to hit the bullseye, and the hunting arrow will hit under the bullseye. If you cant see that then I cant help you.

Evidently you guys have never fired a bow in real life. I have with a couple of friends of mine. Plus I knew one guy who actually bow hunts for deer in the mountains of Colorado, so I know what im talking about.

Just so you know, this isn't actually how arrows work in real life. Unless you're using a lead arrow or something, the bow string has more than enough power to accelerate any arrow to the same speed, and the difference in energy is dissipated in the vibration of the string/bow (that is, a heavier arrow goes the same speed as a lighter one but has more momentum, and so the holder experiences less kick in the bow). It's like throwing a rock or an acorn. If anything, the heavier one goes faster, because its momentum holds up against resistance better.

Nope your entirely WRONG. If you throw a rock and a acorn with the EXACT SAME FORCE the acorn WILL go farther because it takes more kinetic energy to move the rock because of its MASS. This is how it works in real life, believe me, I took physics in collage. Try throwing a baseball and a bowling ball with the EXACT same force. The bowling ball aint going nowhere!!!

Im not the only one who balanced arrows this way. Maquissars Weapons mod does the exact same thing.
