About this mod

This just adds in the missing female cuirass to the steel set. I also corrected all the UV and clipping issues I found in the original male steel cuirass.

Ever noticed how steel armor just didn't get the love it desrved from Bethesda? Well my brother did when he informed me the steel set was missing a female equivalent, and mod added versions left much to be desired. Obviously I could not let this atrocity stand, so I headed off to blender land to remedy the situation.

After 1 day and 1 night I decided it was good enough for something I'm not getting paid to do :P
So here I give to you the reworked version of the male steel cuirass and its female counterpart.
Also with a little UV magic I added a male and female version for the blackwood set, since they use the same basic mesh.

It doesn't have giant knockers... if you want those then learn to model on your own. What it has is corrected UV maps and slightly modified rigging to minimize clipping issues with various greaves, as well as a decent female warrior shape.

In short its designed to blend right in with the vanilla steel set, without the many little graphical errors of the original. See the attached images for some comparison shots and examples.

Also this could serve as a steady base for recolors and the like since there seems to be a lack for such. I would encourage re-using these meshes in any project you like as long as you give me a footnote in the credits someplace.

Just unpack this into you Oblivion directory to try it out. You'll have to tag the little esp if you want to see the female mesh actually used in game though, but the male one drops right in as a replacer.

Now the original Steel Cuirass has no female model specified, so I had to tag it in order to add one. This means that if you use a mod that alters the stats default armor, you may need to make an esp yourself, but its easy. Just open the editor and tag the mods you use which change armor stats, but don't set an active file. Then load it up and find your way to the steel armor and open up the steel cuirass, and where it says add NIF under the female section click there. Then navigate to Meshes\armor\steel\f\cuirass.nif and you're set. Save it, load it with a mod manager, and you've got female steel in your game.

NOTE: Though this may be the first time you've seen my name attached to an upload, this is definitely not my first mod :P My brother and me have been modding Bethesda games since Daggerfall. If you notice something else in the default game that seems to be missing its counterpart or clips badly (like the steel cuirass was) you can mention it in the comments or msg me. If it interests me, looks like I could do it in under a day, would be useful to a number of people, and does NOT fall into the naked vampire genre then I might try to add it.
