    No idea what I did to change things either way.
    At first, I could not get the mod to work at all. I tried a few different ways to install the mod and eventually I was finally gaining experience with staves. It was great but I have no idea which method worked. Then I installed other mods, and now magic staves no longer grant any experience. I tried installing it every different way I could think of, but it just will not grant skill experience with staves anymore.
    If anyone who got this mod to work can provide assistance it would be greatly appreciated. I do not really care how long it takes for someone to respond, I will try to check this regularly.

      Still no idea what went wrong but reverting to a save from the very beginning of the playthrough let me level with staves again.
      Will update if the problem occurs again.

      The ini files do not seem to do anything. I changed the experience multiplier, nothing happened. I changed the setting to remove the disenchantment spell, nothing.
      The only way I could get destruction leveling to a usable amount was by making a separate mod that changed the base growth rate (i.e. 1.2 base to 6.0 base to reflect the 0.2 multi to a 1.0 multi in the ini file.)

    Hm, seem the "Let" command is not recognized, more thn that, accessing the script to see what it is is required.

    From there, if nothing spotted, that error + script to a technical/modding forum and someone should see what to do as to correct this error.

    Yo. While it appears as though a response is unlikely - last post being 2 years old - I'll try anyway.

    The error message:

    ========================================
    Error in Script 64002a27
    Operator / Failed to Evaluate to a Valid Result
    File: DSStaffOverhaul.esp
    Division by Zero
    Offset 0x00b8 Command: Let
    ========================================

    - runs perpetually in the console whenever I use any Staff that was enchanted via DS Staff Overhaul 1.0

    While this does not in any way interfere with normal game play, it makes the console useless for any other mod reports and/or any user utility of the console window logging process.

    The only way to read console logs/reports from other mods is to un-equip the staff and equip a different weapon, which stops the error report.

    Any help with solving the error or simply turning off console logging for DS Staff Overhaul 1.0 would be appreciated.

    This sounds great. This makes it much more desirable to use staves. I am going to try it right away!

    i am am installing this right now with wyre bash.. i read the readme and one future plans the visual effect would be genuine.....would love to see it....my question if it does ever happen will say the fire be all over it our just at the top of the staff like a little fireball up there...as well as the other magic effects...also what would be cool...like if the staff had the color of the element running up and down it like lightning you know except it embedded in the actual staff.....sadly i would help but i barely know how to use wyre bash......much less anything else..i am good with ideas though if you want some just ask...especially when its comes to magic and effects

    Enchanting staffs exists already in Supreme Magicka, another modder (Skyranger-1?) worked on staffs if I'm not wrong.

    As I know, Unenchanted Staff in the Supreme Magicka is a club, so targeting variations in this mod is impossible.(Sorry for my poor English...)

    Yes, Supreme Magicka has a method for enchanting staves that uses a custom item and a scripted effect on the item. My method is different, and allows you to take any staff from any mod, disenchant it, and add your own enchantment. Totally different, and in my opinion better. And the method I use for skill gain is different too, and again doesn't require a scripted effect on the staff. Any staff from any mod will let you gain skill with no extra steps needing to be taken.

    Don't get me wrong: I'm not trying to put down SM or Skyranger-1 (heck, he's in my Credits & Thanks!). My mod's different. Simple as that.

    I have always been interested by your mods and I use some of them. But looking at this one I dont know what balance these new features can give to a game. Enchanting staffs exists already in Supreme Magicka, another modder (Skyranger-1?) worked on staffs if I'm not wrong. I fear I have to wait until the release of the final version of OBSE v19 because of some problems I got in the past with beta releases. Anyway thanks for all these works and I will be following developpment of this one.
