Can confirm what others are saying.... doesn't work out of the box. I found a fix however..... all you need to do is open the file and save it to update the file's timestamp.
Idk why but this mod no longer works? I used to use it with old mod setup but wanted to change it up so I fresh installed oblivion and now after installing this again I cannot get it to work. What am I doing wrong? I've tried Manual install and Mod Manager.

I also am having issues with this mod, even though its super simple and I even know how it works, the game just doesn't seem to pick it up, and I can't figure out why it wouldn't.
It's really frustrating b/c such a simple change shouldn't cause issues like this.

I'm most likely just putting it in the wrong place but I copy the data folder into oblivions data folder like with every other mod then after it's done replacing I try a new game and the quest message pops up telling me how to move, I dont want the game to treat me like a newborn >:|
I should also mention that it doesn't come up in the launchers data files list, although I've downloaded two other things which didn't end up there but still worked.
anyway's any help will be appreciated, I'm most likely just being stupid about this and probably putting it in the wrong place lol
Fantastic. Finally got sick of the popups when doing the Anvil house and it says "The door opened, he fled the scene, etc" all while he's still standing there. With the popups it's like I'm just going to where the pointer says to go.
