I really like the idea and application of a merged UL esp..I'm also using frostcrag reborn though..what options are there to make both FR and the MERGED ul snowdale work together?

Wait for me to release the files which allow that. Should (probably) be before the end of March.

The patch might work for just UL + Reborn, but when Frostcrag Village is in the mix, a patch for that + Reborn has to be used, and the two patches don't work together. The UL patch messes up the FV area that the FV/Reborn patch fixes, no matter where either patch is in the order. If the FV patch is above the UL patch, the whole FV area is a disaster. If it's below the UL patch, the mountain area just behind the houses of FV has massive land tears all over.

Ideally, a UL patch could be made that handles all 3 mods. Otherwise, if you're using UL + FV + Reborn, you can ONLY use the patch for FV + Reborn, you definitely can't use the UL patch with it.

EDIT: I notice that with or without the UL patch, the map marker for Mountain View Camp (just S of Frostcrag) erroneously puts me on the side of Gnoll mountain in a no-zone. I don't see a camp anywhere, and I don't know what mod is putting the map marker in.

I have never understood Slangens' installation instructions for his/her The Jerall Mountains Compendium Patch (available as a separate download from my UL Patches page), which includes patches for use with UL Snowdale, Frostcrag Reborn, Frostcrag Village, and some other mods; I don't know whether you need all the mods mentioned in the instructions or whether one of the patches may work just for the three you refer to.

I'm just using the FV + Reborn patch for now, and the only issue I've seen around that region is the Mountainview Camp problem I mentioned, which exists with or without the UL patch. What mod puts that camp there, I dunno, and why its map marker doesn't FT to it, I dunno either. Doesn't mean the lack of the UL patch isn't causing problems elsewhere though, since I dunno what that patch fixes. I forgot to look at the Jerall Mountains Compendium Patch, I'll check for anything related to this problem.

EDIT: Nothing there to help this issue unless one also uses OOtD in the mix, and since OOtD makes major changes, I doubt the patch would work right without OOtD. It's barely a problem at all since the FV + Reborn patch (unrelated to UL at all) fixes that area nicely in front of Frostcrag. Any other major conflict that Reborn causes that the UL patch would be needed for, I'm unaware of. I've been all around the Reborn castle and spotted nothing bad even though I'm not using the UL patch.

The landscape is absolutely gorgeous as with all of UL. I'm playing with the merged plugin and I'm not certain if it's vanilla or a mod that features smoking chimneys, but I thought it was a little odd that there was a big plume of smoke billowing out of the old quarry house. Was expecting to at least find a bandit holed up in there or something lol. Or maybe I just missed him... Oblivion might have irrepairably stale dungeons, but UL is really the cherry on the top as far as the worldspace is concerned. Makes the whole experience stunning and immersive in a way that I have not experienced in ANY other open world. I only wish there were any similar projects for the other BGS games, makes it hard to go back lol. I know I'm late to the party but thank you all for your excellent work, I really feel like having the opportunity to play so many years after release has really given me a uniquely definitive experience. I know I will cherish these memories for a long time to come.

Ive got floating distant trees in evergreen valley. Its because Tes4lodgen not working beyond borders of game map?

TES4LODGen will generate data for VWD objects anywhere in the worldspace. Your LOD landscape meshes may not match the landheight, in which case TES4LL should fix this.

Thank you for reply. I've already used this utility, and there is no problem with the ground surface,
It perfectly matches the surface in the plugin itself,. I've even tried to replace lod meshes to meshes from pregenerated archive for UL, but there is no change. Also, i can't find Tamriel 20_40.lod file in Distant LOD folder, related to this cell, and it makes me think, that TES4LODgen not work properly beyond cyrodiil borders.
And i solved that problem simply by dublicating Tamriel 21_40.lod file and giving them name Tamriel 20_40.lod and Tamriel 19_40.lod, and that work fine cause all of this cells have no trees. And by the way thank you for such a cozy and beautiful place.

Thank you, I had the same problem and copying the 2 .lod files fixed it :D

Edit: Well this bothered me so I checked. Tes4Lodgen removes the .lod files for those two cells, even if I copied them in before. I assumed it is because in these cells there is absolutely nothing, so it thinks LOD isn't needed. I fixed it for further generation by hiding one item that's visible when distant each under the surface (no trees because they will cause shadows). The LOD files now are generated properly.

Can't fasttrevel to eternal winter valley 'cause I become stuck in Cyrodiil borders.
And also, is the abandoned house in the mountains useful in some way or it's here just for beauty?

      Disable the borders then.

The house is probably there just for looks, but if it has furniture and you want to live in it then you can.

As I said UL bug report, snowdale is in conflict with UL ESP.

coordinates will be in bug report of UL page.

    Thank.

Not a bug. Stop using the merged UL ESP with separate UL ESPs.

Hi, I'm having a real problem with the battle of Bruma, in short, it ruins it, everyone just stands around and does nothing, the daedra just looking at the soldiers above them occasionally swinging their swords at mid air and shooting fireballs, Martin sometimes jumps off and attacks but he's killed pretty quick, what's happening?

Doesn't sound like anything to do with UL Snowdale. If they're not moving then something has edited the quest/script/AI for the battle, which Snowdale does not touch. Snowdale only edits the ground they stand on and the pathgrids.

Actually it mess up the ground in front of the gates that open during the Defense of Bruma quest ( or the so called "battlefield" ) by placing ruins in that place. In order to get it work again I had to turn off the UL Snowdale plugin and rebuild the bashed patch- if someone else face this problem

UL Snowdale does not mess up the ground. You must have a mod conflict, another mod is editing the same location and changing the ground.

Damn, I was fooled by my own curiosity in this mod... I entered the Ice Lake caverns and the Ayleid ruins beneath them and found the notes left there by the expedition. I followed them to the lower chamber and thought the last one would give a clue to remove the ice somehow... it mentiones the last expedition member looking for a way to somehow decipher notes through the ice and so I went looking for notes - and I found one in a room where a dead mage lay frozen in the ice, just as the expedition note said. So I used telekinesis to pull the scroll towards me and was able to read it through the ice, it said

    "Go through the fields.
Turn east for half a mile.
It's just past the big rock on the right."

I thought, which fields, and how far is a mile, but I gave it a go. The valley was like an open field, after all, and big rocks were lying around in large quantities. So I looked all the way up to the Jerall glacier, thought it was both a part of the same mod and somewhere, there had to be something to be found. Only when I opened the mod in the CS I realized that the note was a generic item from vanilla Oblivion and apparently does not have any significance at all. There are also no scripts or anything that implies further interaction with the ice cavern is possible. It's a shame, really, I would very much liked to melt the ice and see what's behind it.

Were there plans to do a quest like this? I don't suppose there is a chance the original author comes back to make it happen.

      Hey Pherim!
Glad you liked the idea of Snowdale and explored it so well!
Sorry that I may have let you run into nowhere with the Ice Lake Caverns but since UL was intended to be "only" a landscape overhaul I wasn't planning on doing any real quests here. I just wanted to add a bit of lore to the place and with the pages it had a little bit of an "make up your own story here" kinda vibe.
Same with the old barracks who are mostly there to make a cool effect when collapsed in the otherwise so empty battlefield of the main quest...

Maybe I should do a little addon to this places but since I left modding like 5 years now, I doubt I would have the skills in scripting this properly.
Also I probably would love to do my own games at this point instead of mods. A lot of things seem to change in your mind between 17 - which was my age when Snowdale first released - and 23.... (probably due to the "I have to make money"-aspect when you're having a family). But who am I telling this here?

But you should never say never right?

Well I don't know where I'm going here with this comment. I just found it by accident and felt like replying

Have a merry christmas and an happy new year!

What's up with the ancient Bruma barracks? I've searched the available interior for a key that is apparently needed to unlock 2 doors. Does it exist?
