Dang. I can't for the life of me get it to work. I think it's got something to do with shoot not recognizing the newer versions of the .Net framework, even tough the old ones are installed. (It might be Windows7, but it still happens in when run with XP compatibility, so I don't think so.)

Either way, it's not worth it to me to go through any more trouble then I have. (None of the solutions provided by other users helped either.)

I was really looking forward to being able to give speech commands...

This has got to be one of the best ideas I've seen on here yet. If it can be improved to work with new spells, that is.
(I have several hundred spells, most of which are for helping with scripts, and I don't like picking through them...)

Unfortunately, it seems to have some problems... and the author seems to have stopped working on it. (No actions since 2006)

I'm downloading it now, and will see what I can do with it.

For those still concerned with it,
"object reference not set to an instance of an object" is a .Net error. It means that some programmer made a mistake.
I'm almost 100% sure that it's a problem with "Shoot".
(If shoot where open source, I could probably fix it, but it's not.)

I'll post any potential solutions I can think of after I've messed with it for a while.

I had the same problems as 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object',

are this refer to something i didn't not install them first?

I've already had .Net 3.0 but speech sdk is not i'm sure about. I'm running vista and is that okay if I got some Speech API (SAPI)5.3? Speech SDK 5.1 did not tell them if it work on vista makes me questioning as well.

Help? I'd love to try them on speech and casting from my own voice!

I've also got this error about object reference:

Even if I try to run Shoot.exe and load profile manually I'm getting another error:

When I try to run Shoot (after adding the 'profilesOblivion-MagicWords1.1.xml' part) it tells me 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'.

Any ideas? I'm stumped. This sounds like a fantastic idea for a mod, I can't wait to get it working.

hey i reeeeally need help... i want to use this awesome mod, but it won't work and i thinks its because there is something i have misunderstand. when i use my selfcreated shortcut of shoot it do show the spell list and when i speak it finds the matching spell...then i minimize it and start oblivion, and say a spells name like flare but that doesn't change my active spell...do i have to equip it in my quick spell wheel or do i have to push some specific button when i speak?? plz help me

Dang, I've been away for a while, but now I'm back. It's amazing to see how many people have been using my mod.
Anyway, this problem looks like oblivion isn't getting the right keystrokes.
What you'll need to do is play around with the timings in the shoot file. The readme gives information on how to do that.

You'll need to open the shoot file in notepad or wordpad.

As for adding your own custom spell. You will need to make sure your plugin loads first. Then you'll need to open TES construction set and get the hex number for your spell.
Then it's a simple matter of adding it to the shoot file in the same format as all the other spells.
