It looked good at first, but after wandering around the locations it adds, I got rid of it. There are very few npcs except in the merchant section, and those that are there are extremely weak & underequipped, and would require too much work to beef up properly. Also the portal doesn't work to leave, you have to console coc out and then mess around to get the Tamriel map back, which is a hassle -- then I found out that the author did this intentionally, which led immediately to the mod's deletion.
i really loved this mod, still do. After all these years whenever i want to replay oblivion i immediatley install this mod. i wish a similar mod existed for skyrim (if there are then please tell me ;p). Anyways hope you make amazing stuff like this in the future wherever it is needed
Too bad this mod wasn't placed northwest of Valenwood, west of Hammerfell or south of Argonia where the player could swim to it or take a boat from Anvil, Leyawiin or possibly Senchal [Elsweyr].
Had to "CoC Testinghall" my way out of there via the console. And then use the Hawkhaven door in the middle of the Testinghall. But then the map from the Retreat whas covering the Tamriel map. I had finally to disable - load the game, and then enable the mod again in the Oblivion launcher.
The dead portal typically occurs when you re-summon the portal while in the retreat's worldspace. Only know fixes are earlier save or uninstall the mod, clean save, reinstall
Hi! Coolie, There is a snowy place, I think its name is Paper Ink Temple... not sure, but it's the only snowy part, then, once on the top of the snowy mountain, there is a broken bridge... just plunge down and you will magicaly be transported to Cyrodiil.
Sorry about that, I purposely made that portal one way to force you guys to explore my creation a bit, my fault There are other exits, as someone pointed out, a leap of faith down the top of the highest point send you back, i think i left a book as a clue in a small pavilion by the waters. At the first area inside the half submerged temple i placed portals back to all major towns, i remember putting a key in a small box.
It has been so long, but if I remember correctly, the portal you summon is only meant as a way to get into my world not out. I made it summonable, so it will not exist until you activate it, elimination conflicts with other mods.
The first part of the world is just a duplicate of Mystic Dawn island with some edits, as I learn, I add new stuff, new lands, new dungeons, the cave, the library, the arena where you can summon creature to fight and get fresh ingredients etc.
This mod was mostly a record of my learning to mod and to script, and it all started because I wanted a chest to store my junks, i am a hoarder. In the end I only finished the mage guild part of the game and spend months on this mod. Modding is quite fun
I am playing Skyrim for the 2nd time now, collecting books are tough and i can never remember which books i already have. Maybe I will make a make a library with all the books sorted nicely, maybe I will wait for someone else to make one, my modding skill are rusty now.
Maybe some day I will go back to Cyrodill and finished the game.
This should be the most endorsed file for Oblivion. While playing Skyrim now, this is one of the only mods I consistently think back to. Would love to see a Skyrim port/recreation. Nothing else like it. Possibly my favorite mod ever, definitely best player home/sanctuary.
