Great mod, it doesn't make sense that other guards would find looting a dead guard OK, or you wandering around wearing guard armor.
I got a mod that replaces broken armor with my clothes from my inventory and I had a Mages hood there and walked into the Arcane Universpty wtih one, not thinking of those guards having one.

Propably because of some other mod, if I go to jail the armor is returned to me upon realease, scrubbed of it's stolen tag.  Which confused me at first.

Ah, so this is why I was getting random bounties when entering towns. I got some chain greaves from a dead Kvatch guard. It didn't appear flagged as stolen (red hand) or anything so I assumed it was okay.

Now I'm not sure if the bounties happened because of the chain greaves belonging to a Kvatch guard, or because town guards also equip chain greaves.

In any case, I guess I'll start changing to normal clothes before entering towns from now on, just in case. Which also adds to immersiveness but, like, I wish the guards first gave you a warning about the conflicting item you are wearing.

I decided to try this, as I like the idea.
It took a while after installing it, but I finally found some dead guards. When I clicked on them to loot , the menu screen appeared, then was replaced by a black screen. I mean my entire screen went black momentarily. The menu screen came back, and the game proceeded normally until I looted the other guard, then it happened again.
I like the mod, and this seems to be the only problem, but it's a somewhat un-nerving one that makes me want to uninstall the mod.
I don't know if it matters, but I am using the latest version of OBSE (v.21). I also use SM Regional Bounty and Spartan's Diverse City Guards.

I'm guessing this mod is one of the many that are no longer supported, so I can only hope that this information may be useful in some way to others who come here.

"ummm, who would want this mod? some people like wearing imperial legion armor, or roleplaying as a city guard..."

People who like realism would like this mod, for one.
And the beauty of modding also lies in the fact that no one is forcing you their content. If you like the mod, use it. If you don't like it, don't use it. Simple.

For those people who "like wearing imperial legion armor, or roleplaying as a city guard...", they can simply not use this mod. Doesn't mean others wouldn't like it.

In fact, it always annoyed me that we can simply strip a dead guard of his clothes in front of his comrades like it was nothing.

I have given this file a rating of 1

I dont really like this mod its so buggy

How is it buggy? Why don't you like it?
If you rate low please at least try to give me a reason not to remove it.
No constructive criticism. Obviously did not read the terms and conditions for rating.

    hey caprinus!
its quite hard making bounty mods compatible with reneer's, unforunately.

his mod takes control of all bounty applied to the player. and it's framework is limited only to bounty acquired from player actions (e.g. pickpocketting, assault, murder). any bounty added adhocly (e.g. via the "vanilla" function available in the non-obse Construction Set, ModCrimeGold) is invalid bounty.

he has since added an interface for third-party mod developers to adhocly modify bounty. but i remember it a struggle to implement in my Clothing matters mod.

after i finish this round of updates to my other mods, i'll look into adding support for reneers in this mod.

    hey draculazla!
unfortunately, i've found no other way of doing what this mod does. it is impossible to modify the attributes of items (e.g. weapon durability, charges, owner, etc...) without moving them from one container to another outside of GameMode.

    cheers, guys!

I like the idea, but would be really nice if it could be made compatible with Reneer's guard mod.

    i've updated this mod:
    0.54, 14 March 2009:
tweak: Impersonating guards is a crime is automatically disabled when my Clothing matters mod is active.
Clothing matters has an extended version of this component.
But when Clothing matters is not active, this component works as normal.

but i would recommend the use of Clothing matters along with this mod.

also, apart from leaving comments here, you can leave bug reports, comments, etc. in this thread: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=936803

yes. but then the players cannot wear guard armour. this mod still lets you loot guard armour from the dead and wear them. it just gives you a penalty doing so.

i usually play with immersive/realisitc-type mods.

and i'd rather have as many options/choices in the game as possible but have those options/choices have consequences.

    its just my preference.

edit: also, i'm planning on allowing the player to be able to actually impersonate a guard (e.g. enter guard houses and such). but i gotta find the best way to implement this without screwing the current game mechanics (e.g. factions, etc...).
