Meanwhile, in Skyrim. People and guards warn you to not burn the buildings with your fire spells, but buildings burning will never happen because of fire spells.
A very good first try! I wonder why nobody else thought of it. Is this the first burnable object mod out there?
After reading the comments, we hope you can update this nice little add-on: (in no particular order, or degree) 1. Make more materials burnable, not just wood. 2. "area effect" fire damage sources starting multiple objects on fire. 3. burning objects hurt npcs/monsters/etc. in addition to yourself. 4. burning objects can be put out. (either timed, or by cold damage effects) 5. fire can spread to nearby burnable objects. 6. objects can burn down to nothing removing it. 6b. (seems difficult..can just change the texture? model?, hard I know) 7. wind can increase the radius of burning effect. (directional? cone shape fire?) 8. weather affects if object can ignite. (ie if its too wet) 9. weather can also put out (small) fires. (heavy rain). 10. in snowy/cold areas, you need stronger fire damage sources to ignite. 11. smoke can suffocate people/npcs/monsters/youself. (specifically in-closed areas) 12. toxic fumes from specific material being burned. (damage, poison, other) 13. explosive materials instantly burn out while destroying the object! doing high radius damage. (possibility of spreading fire is lower though)
That is all I can think of at moment. Again good start. I'll be tracking this.

In Oblivion, it doesn't burn.
This mod makes it possible.
Fun mod to play around with. Is there any other way besides rain to put out the fires?
The descriptions says both
