I've just spent a lot of time trying to open my console on my Linux Ubuntu 22.04.The ring of gods worked fine, but it's not very practical and this program didn't work, as I had installed OBSE version 22.10 beta. In desperation, I installed the version available on Nexus 22.9 and the program started working immediately! I know it's a bit late, but I approved!
This really helped me out, i was stuck in Knights of the Nine Revelation the Daedric Furnaces part and it needed a spell, but i dont have much magicka, so i need to cheat, thanks. my other keys are not working including the console key so this helps me out thanks!
Man, you've done us, Vista's users, a great favor with this mod! I was using that special ring that allows you to open the console; it was ok, but looking for it in my cluttered inventory, adding it to a hotkey, equipping and unequipping it, time and time again was a bit frustrating. Now i've got a key, yes! Thank you and i'll endorse as soon as it lets me.
I just purchased a new laptop, a Macbook Pro, and am running my modding environment under Parallels Desktop. There is a problem in that environment with the standard console invocation (`) key not working. I was afraid I was going to have to return my new system to the store (I have a few days during which that's allowed) because of that stupid keyboard issue, since as a modder the console is absolutely essential to me.
This mod works PERFECTLY for me! I have assigned the PageDown key (which on the Mac is Command-DownArrow) to be my console key, and it works without a single hitch.
THANK YOU for this mod! I just downloaded it a few minutes ago, so I can't endorse yet, but I promise to do so as soon as the Nexus timer will let me.
IT does work, but game rendered itself unplayable. The Console opens and closes very fast after entering a game. Pressing the Hotkey does not fix it, also changing it to 144 gives same problem.
As for those of you that are having trouble getting this mod to work: I assume you are using Vista or Windows 7 due to your interest in the mod in the first place. There is one more feature of your operating system that is in the way, YOU MUST DISABLE UAC FOR ANY OBSE BASED MOD TO WORK.
Even if you set OBSE to run as an administrator, Windows will still block it WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION. You can disable UAC by typing "UAC" into the search bar in control panel and choosing "Turn User Account Control On or Off".
If it still doesn't work check to see that these lines:
[ConsolePlus] iConsoleKey=123
Are present in the Oblivion.ini file located at documents/My Games/oblivion (For GOTY version anyways) and if they are not then add them yourself.
Now that you have disabled UAC and have a working developer console you are no longer limited by your operating system and may enjoy every mod to it's fullest!
