I've taken a look at the script in one of the Basic ESPs, and I can see it contains multiple OBSE functions, so the original author was mistaken to say that Basic does not require OBSE.
I am using Wrye Bash to install and using the advanced esp. My windows are always lighted as well. Not sure why it wont work, I have OBSE, etc all working fine.

Specifically,during the 6 cold months of the year smoke is heavy during the night and light during the day. During the 6 warmer months of the year smoke is light during the night and zero during the day except when raining. However, even in warmer months smoke is still heavy in the northern part of Tamriel and in the mountains.
Asmall random factor (25%) allows having different types of smoke (a large effect among smaller ones or a small effect when no other chimney is smoking).
Every time you cross a game cell border,the script checks if windows should be lit or unlit, and if they should be lit there’s a 75% chance they will turn on.
The install script for AWLS doesn't work anymore because updates to Wrye Bash broke backwards compatability.
An error occurred in the wizard script: Line 15:SelectSubPackage "000 Core" Error:(Line 15, Column 28): Sub-package '000 Core' is not a part of the installer.
Is there any chance of this getting fixed? The script needs updating to work as I understand it, and this is not the only BAIN/FOMOD installer i've seen break in precisely this way.
Works absolutely fine with Wrye Bash 311. You're changing the content of mod archives before installing them, that's what is breaking the installs for you.
The images don't really do this mod justice. When you're walking through the Imperial City as night falls, and the lights come on, it's quite a magical transition. 10/10 mod.
Thanks to your comments, i was able to play with AWLS!!!! I searched for hours and hours with control-F for MO2 and other keywords, until I saw your post, and tried your solution! Thank you for posting and posting the ANSWER! .
I also Like MO2 and went to install AWLS, and saw no headaches. Even used a backdoor approach and ran OBMM archive activation through MO2, however the light only stayed on for one load and the smoke was spotty at best, lol. I could not keep the smoke and lights on after one session.
Saw your SKYBSA fix! I also think SKYBSA fixes other things as well. Just seems smoother now.

help me please somebody. what should I do to reduce the brightness of the windows? could not figure out the IllumAnimation tool :( how exactly to do it?
I installed using Wrye Bash, everything seems to work as intended. My only question is this, why do the interior windows appear to glow at night, as if it's daylight outside? Is this just how the mod normally functions?
AWLS doesn't touch interiors at all, you're either seeing the lighting from the original game, or you have another mod installed which changes the interior lighting/windows.
please make it consistent with the fashion for transparent windows and so that the light does not burn in all windows, and sometimes it lights up and goes out, and, of course, if you put a window with curtains, they would appear inside the building.
Hey, I'm modding my game using Bevilex modlist. My problem with this mod is that the lights stay on 24/7 (like during the day as well). I definitely chose the right settings in the wizard with Wyre Bash. You seem to be a great responder. Is there any info I can give you to hopefully solve this? I'm pretty knowledgeable in terms of getting a great working modded game, but this one mod is giving me trouble. Thanks
Appreciate the response. I actually am using the AdvancedESP Smoking Chimneys esp. It is activated, and the lights are still remaining lit throughout the day. I've even tried the other esps and still no dice. I'm installing using the install wizard through wyre bash. I am 100% using the correct esp.

So, if the lights remain on 24/7 then you are not using one of the optional ESPs.
