    Shame, could be essential mod for me but the whole staff uses no charges if your skill is high enough ruins this mod. I only want the using staff increases your skills feature.

    Been a while since I looked at this, but IIRC:
    1. In order to substitute magicka, you must have significantly more skill than the minimum necessary to cast an equivalent spell.
    2. ...and you must have full or almost full magicka
    3. ...and you don't actually save any magicka relative to casting the equivalent spell.

    Though, if a staff doesn't have auto-calc on and has the charge cost set to something that doesn't make sense for an equivalent spell, things might get weird.

    Cool, another must have mod for Oblivion. Have only one comment, it's the skill to use magica, in place of staff charges. Which is fine good idea but the cost in magica is to low and I feel it's a bit unbalancing being able stand back a lob fireballs all day long.

    9/10 A must have.

    I notice that you didn't say anything about enabling the esp file. That's necessary for all esp / esm based mods.

    Another possibility is incorrect use of OBSE. You must have OBSE installed and be using it correctly (launching oblivion via obse_loader.exe or another OBSE-aware launcher).

    Less likely but still possible: if you just loaded a save inside his store or right next to it after restarting oblivion.exe, it might take a few seconds for this mod to add the spell to his spell list.

    Hmm, I added the esp file to my data folder, but for some reason the fellow in the mystic emporium does not have the "attune staff" spell in his sell list. What am I doing incorrectly do you think?

    cool it works without the flame burst now thanks and sorry for inconvenience with the sr_staff_skill.esp working fine I somehow don't need the NoScriptHitVisual.esp anymore alls good and thanks a lot sorry for the trouble.

    No inconvenience, that needed to get fixed. I had changed the flare spell as part of debugging early on, and then forgot that I changed it. So it didn't get changed back until you pointed it out.

    Version 0.40 is now up. Changes:

    Fixed a stupid change to the "Flare" spell (thanks to Herolegend for pointing that out)

    Mmodifications to staffs no longer happen automatically; you now have to specifically cast a new "Attune Staff" spell.

    Messages telling you why it won't work on staffs where it won't work.

    Now works on a wider variety of staffs

    Oh wait. Now I see the issue you were talking about. I think I was looking at a different, maybe related issue. This is really weird. I have no clue what this is. I'll try to figure it out.

    edit: that appears to be just a silly mistake on my part, accidentally misclicked or something. will be fixed soon.
