xenxander: Actually, acceleration due to a given amount of force is inversely proportional to mass (a = F/m), while kinetic energy is proportional to only one half the mass, but the square of the speed (K = .5mv^2). In other words, mass matters less than velocity for purposes of impact energy, so in theory lighter arrows WOULD do more damage.
In actuality, however, the amount of damage caused is based on a number of complex factors. The stiffness of the arrow shaft, the shape and sharpness of the arrowhead, the impulse the arrow experiences (relationship between pull length and pull strength), etc etc...
Suffice to say that there is not a simple relationship between arrow weight and damage in general.
I disagree with some of the previous posts, I don't care much for the weight of the arrows, just that More expensive arrows (glass, Daedric) should be fast and strong.
From what you're saying, heavier arrows are slower and less damaging? Hmm, according to physics, heavier objects hurled at the same velocity as lighter objects to far more damage.
granted 'at the same velocity' is iffy, as more mass with the same draw power of the bow means a slower projectile, but as I loved archery once upon a time (and I still throw darts "> ) heavier objects are always more damaging even factoring in the draw power (it doesn't subtract as much as the power the mass incurrs - net positive outcome).
This is for arrows as it says - does bow quality matter as well? I think there's a seperate mod for bows & arrows? But it would be nice if this one had bow type parred with arrow type for a 'double whammy' (ebony / dedric bow + ebony / decric arrows).
And what of new arrows crafted with MMM? Like Fint arrows or Orgre teeth arrows? How are their damages calculated? I'm just asking questions to know fully what the mod does before I use it
I'd like to let u know that heavier arrows have less of an arrow velocity. and according to ur mod description, Daedric arrows have the highest quality. so, they should have the highest velocity. Ironicaly enough, they are the heaviest. Make the connection

I love this mod
