I encounter an issue but not with this mod, I noticed the potions in my game are not OScuro's but replaced by (i guess) the vanilla ones. meaning health potions will no longer gradually regen, but instantly heal their amount.
I do not know which mod does this, so here is my Load order if someone can figure: It is not Waalx (i tested removing the mod) and I doubt its Maskar because It used to work fine with both of them installed. EDIT Turns out Maskar's ini setting regarding potions had changed, so I simply just re enabled it... I feel dumb but I leave this here if it happens to someone else.
OOO Updated is easy to install. The most time consuming thing about it is the extraction of the bsa file when installing, if that is the correct expression.
Thanks for the clarification, but actually I do believe that OOO Updated is quite stable and easy to install - the only reason I'm not using it is OBSE, for some reason it doesn't like the GOG Oblivion I installed, even with the appropriate loader the game starts to behave funny. Not sure why.
Oh right, slight misunderstanding from my side. I don't have any problems with OBSE on the GOG version. I put the obse_loader.exe from OBSE Loader 0021 GOG-37952-0021 in the oblivion (not the data) folder, along with Data, obse_1_2_416.dll and obse_editor_1_2.dll from OBSE 0021-37952-0021, and everything works perfectly for me. Normally, if you do that, it should work. I think OBSE is also important for lots of other mods, so for me it is a necessity, there is not really a way around it. What do you mean by "behave funny"?
I follow the exact instructions, OBSE is working fine. The two mods that rely on it ("Auto Update Leveled Items and Spells" and "Spell Deletion") are also functioning correctly.
However, a few minutes into the gameplay I inevitably come across completely random and weird behaviour (which is kind of amusing in itself):
- Spell effects out of nowhere (fire damage sound just after walking out of prison in tutorial) - Items added to inventory when they shouldn't be (received rat meat while walking around near Bruma) - Inability to make power attacks (animation just stops at holding back the weapon)
I posted in OBSE comment section, and one person told me that perhaps those two OBSE-dependent mods may be causing the problem. I played the game with OBSE, but without the mods - and sure enough, no glitches occurred. Then I re-enabled the mods, and had another glitch - I killed a Khajiit bandit near a fort, and heard Boethiah's booming voice - which is not supposed to happen outside of his "tournament" quest.
How on Earth things end up in such confused state is beyond my comprehension. This is likely a problem with one of those mods, even though they look legit to me, and their users never reported this kind of strangeness. I've heard that OBSE may be chaotic and tricky on some systems, perhaps I'm just the lucky one...
It's not that big of a problem for me, as I tend to keep my mod list very lean, and I can do just fine without OBSE (using TIE instead of OOO, for instance). But if I ever get the script extender up and running without issues, I'll be sure to give OOO Updated a go.
That does sound funny. But I guess it's also annoying and immersion breaking. I don't know why it behaves so weirdly for you, because it has never happened to me before, so I am not sure I can be of much help with that, but good luck getting it to work.
Well, thank you anyway for hearing me out and trying to help! I'm sure the culprit is not OBSE itself, but one of these mods I mentioned, and if so - I can live without them. So I might try OOO Updated or some other OBSE mods in the future, if all goes well.
Certain Dll loaders do actually have problems with GoG or exterior Non-Steam copies of the game indirectly, so be careful, or just get a steam-copy, literally buying oblivion form the Bathesda Site is more unstable with modding then Steam, so just go through steam so you avoid extra indirect steps involving Dll loaders and Mod Launchers, otherwise you're going to get locked out of 20% of the uploaded mods on the internet for Oblivion.
I had the same situation, and it turns out the glitches were caused by AULIS (Auto Update Leveled Items and Spells) mod. After removing it, I was able to use OBSE and its mods without any problems on GOG version, including OOO Updated.
For some reason OOO causes the game to fail to load (just stuck on loading screen) when I try to fast travel to certain places. I tried the imperial city market and bruma for example. It works if I disable the mod. It happens even if I reload and try again, but if I do a lot of things such as waiting it goes away for a bit.
I don't have a lot of mods: all dlcs unofficial patches for all engine fixes (new to try to fix the issue, no change) better cities and ooo compatibility kvatch rebuilt cm partners midas spells epic necromancy alternative start
it works fine except if I have ooo turned on (or forget to turn off better cities ooo patch)
I actually have OOO updated, so I posted over there, not sure how to delete this
guys is there any wau to disable traps on chests? it makes me angry and i cannot enjoy game. even with security 100 i die from traps almost every time. help pls
Yes when installing the patch I was able to toggle on/off the Trap Chest playing 'before you open the chest' or 'after you open the chest' (which I believe is the default style.)
There is no way to remove the trap lest you disable it using Security. The mod only makes the trap trigger initially or after closing.
If you can't get around it, and depending on your mods, I recommend Using Dispel, Open Lock, then Telekinesis for pure safety reasons, Dispel Touch or Target, Open Lock Target, and Telekinesis 10ft for 5 seconds.
I've noticed none of the vendors in my game lose/gain coin during transitions? This is immersion breaking and a bit annoying. Is it OOO? Or OCO? Or Maskars? All compatible.
As it turns out this is the way it functions in the default game. As it prevents a player from selling an item worth 2k to a vendor with only 500 gold. (Even if you were to inflate their small economy with a ton of purchases, they would still only be able to make a 500 gold purchase--which I suppose might make some sense in an immersive way: their books can only go so far or their skill/expertise is limiting them personally as people in the game, etc.)
This also makes the Mercantile perk of investing truly worth it now.
I'm wondering if your mod has changed Vampirism? I'm running Basic Primary Needs among other mods and I'm finding that I'm for some reason I'm never progressing in my Vampirism, ie never going from level 1 Vampire (contently satiated) to level 4 Vampire (maniacally fiending) -- even if my hunger and thirst drops to zero.
So yes, a complete description or even ReadMe would be GREATLY APPRECIATED :3
@PSchoenmann Unfortunately, it appears your problem is a conflict with other mods, you're going to need to individually go through reinstalling each mod till you find the conflict after creating a clean install.
I found this out by eliminating all mods other then what's necessary for BPN and OOO and there was no problems associated. I had both mods installed before with my full mod list and there was still no problems like what you're dealing with.
Anytime I try to rest or go to sleep, my character returns with their stamina, health and mana completely drained and the character is panting like they're out of breath. Needless to say I can't progress through a number of quests that require sleeping as a trigger for the next stage.

(Are you using any overhaul mods?)
