Oof, yeah - like I said in an earlier comment, I made this mod a very long time ago, and I don't remember if mod managers as we understand them today were around back then. I certainly wasn't using one at the time, if they were. So the mod is packaged assuming a manual installation.

What you can do - if you want to have a more automatic "mod manager handled" installation, rather than a manual one - is extract each plugin you want to use from the 7z file, and then (individually or all together) add them to new 7z archive/s with descriptive names. Then install the new archive/s using your mod manager.

As for it saying you're still dirty after activating the bathtub, did you have a bar of soap in your inventory at the time? Beyond that, it's been too long for me to remember the inner details of how the mod works, sorry.

There's a few ways you could do it, but what might be simplest actually is to just follow the instructions for a manual install, but extract the files to a temporary directory instead of the Data directory. Like c:\temp\ or whatever.

Then, add all the files in the temporary directory (plugins, models, textures, etc) into a new 7z file, and install that new 7z file using your mod manager. Be sure to enable all the plugins you chose if the mod manager doesn't do so automatically.

I hate to pester you, but after I got this mod installed and got all of the plugins checked to be on, the bathroom upgrades and bathtubs does not appear at all in the vendors. The soap does show up and it works but I don't get any bonusses despite going over the readme file and replacing the base esm for it. My Nexus says it's on the top of the load order. Sorry.

I don't remember getting a report of that before - in the 15 or so years since I made this mod (oof) - so it's pretty safe to assume that there isn't a bug in the mod that I can fix to resolve this. It'd be something specific to your game, and I'm not sure what that could be, I'm afraid.

is it possible to turn off the need for washing? I wish baths were optional

Yes; if you use the "bonus, not penalty" version, you get a buff for bathing, rather than a penalty for not bathing.

See the readme/description for info on how to install that - there's a plugin to install manually, because I made this mod a very long time ago. I wasn't using mod managers back then. I'm not sure what mod managers were even around at the time.

I've always wondered how oblivion characters lived everyday without washing themselves or using the bathrooms? In my head as i played oblivion on my youtube, I imagined all the characters taking baths, and using toilets inside said bathrooms. Now I don't have to hurt my brain as much forcing myself to imagine these characters washing themselves. Thanks. <3

    Will Endorse.

I don't know if this mod is still being worked on, but if you're interested I could try and create some bathing animations. I've get a fair amount of experience in blender creating animations for my own use.

It's not; it's been finished for a very long time now. Thanks for the offer, though.

If you haven't already you may want to check out this mod, which uses the bathtubs from the Bathing Mod but also appears to include animations and other things. (I haven't tried it myself.)

Terrific mod! This mod really adds a lot to my game, however, whether I enable/disable the mod's esp, my Oblivion crashes when I start a new game or a load.
I do not have any other mod that edits any player homes/npc homes. Help would be appreciated!

    Thank You!

That's not something I'm getting any other reports of...

If you could provide some more detail, that might help. Things like:

      - Your load order exported from a mod manager like NMM.
      - Have you used the mod before?
      - Which exact Bathing Mod plugins you are using/want to use.
      - What kind of crash you're talking about exactly.
      - What you mean by "whether I enable/disable the mod's esp" (sorry, I'm having some trouble understanding you there).

Uugh, sorry for the dull description! I am using Tes4edit for the load order, and by crashes I mean Oblivion stops running, which gives me a frozen screen giving me the option to "Close," "Find a Solution and Close," or "Wait for Program to Respond," these are the screen where I am stuck and have to shut my laptop off! This is also my first time with the mod, I am also using the plugin for Shiver Isles. And by enabling the mod, I meant activating the esp, which I found in the "Data Files."

      Thanks for the response!

I'd really need to see the actual load order to (potentially) get something useful there; to see if there are any obvious problems with it.

I am a bit puzzled by what you mean about using TES4Edit for your load order. It's not a load order management tool, as far as I know. Typically it would be something like Nexus Mod Manager or Wrye Bash.

Antistar, I've been using this for years, thnx for an excellent mod.Nowadays I play Nehrim, and I m trying to enrich it with various Oblivion mods, with some success. My personal request is: is there a way to port the bathing mod to Nehrim?so far I've tried to do that with TES4Edit,with no success.
I dont plan to release it,it's staying as a personal game. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, Nehrim; I always meant to try that out, but never got around to it.

There would be a way to 'port' it into Nehrim, yes; but it depends on how you'd like to do it (and possibly on exactly what's in Nehrim). You could just place a bar of soap somewhere, or go the whole hog and add bathtubs to the game world, items to merchant inventories, etc.

In any case, it requires some knowledge of the CS, possibly TES4Edit, and of how to work with multiple plugins at the same time (possibly including how to work with esp files as masters).

I'd defo recommend you play it,Nehrim>>>vanilla Oblivion.
My plan was to add tubes/soap to vendor lists.Nehrim has a "unique" non-animation bath system, which cures diseases when you "bath"( no anims like I said).
I'm not that experienced in either TES4Edit or CS,so idk if that may conflict with the bath mod.
Still, if you decide to give Nehrim a try,I'll look forward for the bath mod.

there is a problem, so I hope you help me: "1": The soap that I buy, disappears ... "2": The npc's sell 1 or at most two, and soon; soap lack market. 3: And I can (I can) use soap out of water, the beginning (description) says: water (rain / tub / lake). And in the water when I use soap, nothing happens, happens the same when I use the soap out of water (I thought I would get a bonus to use soap and water). 3 And marketers do not sell bath, no. (detail: I still have no home, I'm level 1) I am using the "basic hygiene pessoal.esp," together, and it will be in this conflict? I thought I had to use both.

    grateful for fast reply.. =)

Are you talking about this mod? If so, then no; don't use them at the same time. I'm not surprised that you're seeing problems; you'll need to choose one or the other.

old! has no logic! soap, cost 119 golds! This wrong! An inn is only 20 golds. In your country, the soap is more expensive than renting a room? oO Detail: should just rent the rent, and the table (along with alumentos) or near the bed should have a soap, since it does not have a bath ... I'm honestly thinking of taking this mod. If only I had a bath in hotels. (I'm starting the game fdo zero with this mod, I see that you are thought of using it in a rich character, not a character from lvl 1) 119 gold is more expensive than some armor, a simple soap more expensive than armor? Please pack it to be logical. grateful.

Well yes, this mod is quite old now. I can't remember what I was thinking with the price of the soap. It might have been because one bar of soap lasts forever in this mod (which in itself is not ideal, but certain engine limitations made it not seem worthwhile to do otherwise).

In any case, I'm not planning to update the mod at this stage, especially for something so minor. (I haven't had Oblivion installed on my PC for many years now.) I'd suggest tweaking the price yourself for your own game if you like, using TES4Edit.
