All, this is a great mod, but as it hasn't been updated for a couple of years, I'd suggest checking out a couple of other ones that further develop this mod's idea.

I've built a mod that does everything this one does, and then some. It also allows for automatic reequipping of weapons to replace broken ones in combat, and some other stuff. It's fully customizable so you can turn on/off settings as you see fit. It also supports players and NPCs.
    You can get it here:

(I'll give credit where credit is due though. It was this mod that gave me the idea.)

Additionally, you might want to try Maskar's Unequip Broken Armor. While it only deals with broken armor, it does so flawlessly and is worth checking out. It's also customizable and supports both the player and NPCs. In fact, if I'd known he was going to build this mod the same time I wrote mine, I would have just skipped that part of my mod.

Fantastic mod Im using it all the time wouldn’t be without it. Do you know that if you pick up armour damaged to zero and you are wearing the same thing it removes yours saying it damaged? Just thought id mention it.

Enless someone can make the textures for me this wont be added.

Not sure what you mean when you say the armor is still wearable - isn't the mod working for you?.

Good idea, but broked armor is always still wearable (unless twisted by magic or something <img class=">) Although being practicaly useless. I'd be nice to have new textures uploaded on the armor as it wears down (more battered)
