Anyone else having an issue of dying immediately upon loading a game with this mod? It was working great for a few days, now when I use it I die one instantly upon loading the game. Then while spawning, I die again but don't respawn. So I sit there looking at my corpse and can do a few things like shoot, but not move.
When I remove the mod, I also die instantly the first time I load. But then I actually respawn and stay alive. But with the mod, I just instadeath.
That's because it needed to be updated and rather than to put a link to a new Mediafire's file chembros has made a new Mod out of it. You'll find it here : "Jetpack Enhanced". Reading a few comments wouldn't hurt and might have helped you.
Thanks for this. Any chance you can just begin posting your version here? Mediafire is so infested with malware and false download links, that it always makes me nervous even using that site.
Either way, thanks for keeping this updated. Playing without it is such a terrible experience.
It's not his Mod and since he hasn't been made an admin by ATaXiA/ArmaTec he can't post it here. That would involve him making a new Mod out of it and as he's not playing NMS so much lately that might be a bit much to ask, don't you think ? ( even if he thought about it for a while, might still do hey... ) By the way as long as you download files from people you know there's nothing wrong or to worry about with Mediafire. Like any free data storage website if you go crazy downloading whatever you come across then you're asking for it (not implying you actually did), if you don't mind me saying so, otherwise it's fine like any other one.
Edit : You see your dream came true : Jetpack Enhanced By the way about Mediafire i forgot i've got a few Adblockers in my browsers so that's why i never see them & felt safe, sorry my bad !
Ok everyone - I've tested this new file for a few minutes (short on time atm) and everything seems to be in order. Both files updated, unzip and choose only one. Let me know if there are any problems, and I'll take a look at it. :)
FYI: I didn't test this with the now working rocket boots - there's probably some funky business going on there. I don't use the boots, personally. You'll probably have to remove the rocket boots from your equipment slot.
Works fine for me. I deleted the file from my MODS folder, downloaded the one from the link, and it works. Also the files say modified 9/24, not 9/8. Do you have the rocket boots installed? They might conflict with the mod.
You went for the wrong link i guess wout25, there was one uploaded on the 8th of September a few comments below from the 3xperimental branch working with HG's update v.1.59. The one working with v.1.60 is just on top of your comment, until an other one is needed. ;)
Not sure what went wrong here... Now the link directs me to the file from the 25th of september. I swear it directed me to the file from the 8th earlier.
I quess Chrome remembered the previous mediafire link and...
@chembros Besides the "Rocket Boots" changes from the previous update that you might not have changed (as we spoke about), there's nothing added or changed in "GCPLAYERGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN" from today's update from HG ! No need for an update if no one's complaining about the "Rocket Boots", isn't that great hey ? ;)
I'm not quite sure as i haven't tested it, unlike "Superman" i don't see anyone complaining about it here, it might not affect "Jetpack Overhaul" in the same way. So i would leave it as it is for now to let people make their own choice, but as soon as someone's reporting some weird behaviour i would make the changes to be done with it (letting people know the "Rocket Boots" became useless and its slot's free for any other upgrade). How does that sound ?

Looks like it's broken again. xD I'll take a look at it soon. I might make it a new mod with similar name (crediting ATaXiA) as it doesn't seem like he's coming back to the game.
Any chance you could fix the bit of the mod that causes a few of us issues with the ship controls while you're in there?
According to one of the uses in the Disqus:
ok so I really don't know what I'm doing, but I ran Jetpack overhaul through Xodarap's Mod Merger (the log file shows changed values) two lines stood out to me.
From: 81 <property name="GhostbusterAmp3" value="0.6"/> To: 81 <property name="GhostbusterAmp3" value="1.401298E-45"/> and From: 222 <property name="MouseCrosshairMultiplier" value="1"/> To: 222 <property name="MouseCrosshairMultiplier" value="2.369356E-38"/> those changed values seemed out of place to me(even though I have no idea what they do), so I just set them back to default value (originally tried just changing line 222 back to default, but the mod didn't seem to work at all) and repacked the mod. A quick test showed me that the flight control delay was gone and the mod seemed to work properly. Unfortunately the planet I was on was going through a scalding rainstorm so I didn't extensively test it. when I get some free time later I will test more thoroughly and update.
**Update** played for a few hours and everything appears to be working properly with those values changed. ship controls (locked) are behaving correctly and the jetpack appears to function as the mod intended (I don't know about the unlimited version as I don't use it, but with Xodarap's Merger it would be easy enough for someone who does to change those values and see)
It be awesome to get an update for this mod again, its so hard to go back to default jet-pack once you used this mod.
Thanks for all your effort!
You're not half wrong. Normal jetpacking is so tedious, that after having a taste of the good life provided by the old mod, I've stopped playing altogether.

Ok here's the newly updated, experimental branch files for Jetpack Overhaul. This time I've included the unlimited version. The zip file contains both pak files so only use one. Let me know if you have any problems with the unlimited version, and I'll take a look at it.
I couldn't stand to play without it any longer so I figured out what broke with WinMerge and fixed it. I can send you the file if you're short on time.
