Notice: I will be seeking to update this mod for compatibility with Next once we've arrived at a stable version of the game. Until then, the versions currently available are for Atlas Rises only.

Thank you so much for downloading this mod, sharing and enjoying it with others. For those interested in my other mods, I'll be looking to update those that remain relevant once we've arrived at a more stable build of Next that won't necessitate repeated updates to my work and repeated downloads on your end. See you then!

Recently unpacked this, game shows lower rendering for hyperperformance. But the screen is completely black.

Alright, NEXT Update has arrived at last! And I've tried it and there's pretty much significant performance from Atlas Rises, but it still need Project Toaster & Spud mod, because I've got around 15-24 FPS on empty planet and only 9-14 FPS on lush planet with all settings low and 1024 x 768, I notice some effects that need to be deleted, including bunch of unnecessary shadows on plants and rocks, also blur background when opening crafting menu.

Here's the screenshot by the way (on dull planet) on 1280 x 720 with all low settings

Thanks! Hopefully they'll have optimized things a bit better so this won't feel like as much of a need for folks, but I'll be watching out for Next's influence on performance, and will work on updating this if need be!

Thanks for the reply mate! The NEXT update is just few days away and I'm really excited to play it but there's small chance that HG would optimize the performance of the game for low end laptop like us, btw my specs is: Intel Core i3, Nvidia GT820M 2 GB, RAM 8 GB.
Oh and also once NEXT is came out, I can't wait this mod's update!
Oh and I used ProjSpud1xDS, and it at least give me 4-7 FPS at resolution 800 x 600 and all settings are low, so total 21-32 FPS on bland planets and 15-22 FPS on lush planets.

I was speeding up NMS with cheat engine speed hack to shop for S class ships when I accidentally left it on and went to another system.

I had the speed on 5X game speed but the strange thing is.. THE LOADING TIMES BETWEEN MAPS ARE 5X FASTER ALSO WTF!.

So as far as I know the loading times are on a timer not based on cpu/ram..(why would they do this) The game is so much better with really fast loading times but I don't want to change the game speed every time I load an area...

I would love a mod that changes loading times.. any ideas?

Hey, sorry for the delayed response, only caught this the other day! Dug around a bit and while I swear I could remember some conversation about finding a value related to warp duration (load time), I haven't had much luck finding it again. If I had to guess, it may be tied up in an unknown we haven't pinned down yet (or maybe did, and forgot to log? hard to say).

Wish I had a better response for ya, but that's all I currently know/recall on this specific topic.

      Edit:
Hey, sorry, I'm a dumbass! I had the global section for this sitting right in front of me, but because of recent other globals research, I was totally looking past it. Running some experiments now to see if I can get a better, snappier feel for it.

      Edit2:
So, after toying around with this (and discussing it with another modder that's experimented with it more), it turns out that for the most part we can adjust the transitions in & out of the warp screen (including their speed), but the overall load time into a new system is primarily determined by the star system's contents & your hardware. I suspect what you were experiencing was simply that, a speeding up of the entry & exit of the warp screen, but not necessarily a direct improvement in load times.

Going back to the vanilla settings though, I'm sure, felt like a major drag by comparison.
