Yo!
Dive into your No Man's Sky GameData directory, jump into PCBANKS, torch the DISABLEMODS.txt if it's still there, create a new folder called MODS and copy over --only one-- of the paks from Proj. Spud or Proj. Toaster.
Keep in mind, these mods work to improve performance --not by improving the look of anything--, but by --downgrading-- the look of things.
Proj. Spud cuts out major portions of postprocessing effects, lens flare, volumetric lighting, and disables bilinear filtering & supersampling. In other words, its files makes the game look much rougher, and targets primarily low end machines.
Proj. Toaster takes a more targeted approach, with Norm. Shaders only disabling bilinear filtering & supersampling. Low Shaders & Lower Shaders focus in on more carefully cutting out shadow effects and volumetric lighting effects. In short, the files found here are less likely to improve one's performance significantly, but may help those on middling machines looking for a slight boost while retaining nice visual touches.
Fun note for any modders pokin' around in here:
Since these weren't MBINs, I was able to comment through the files I adjusted. Hopefully this might help ya if ya wanna play around with these!
Thanks to Ahadsuleymanli & Yendorion for giving me permission to restore their work and release it!
