- Permissions and credits
This mod increases the material cost required to install technology modules in No Man's Sky. It’s made for players who want technology upgrades to feel more valuable, planned, and resource-hungry — not just something slapped on at every opportunity.
Depending on the version you download, tech installation costs are increased by x2, x5, x10, up to x100 — pick how punishing your upgrade path should be.

⚙️ Choose Your Tech Challenge
Each version of the mod applies a different multiplier to the installation requirements of technologies:
- 🟢 x2 – Just a bit tighter on resources
- 🟡 x5 – Stock up before upgrading
- 🟠 x10 – Carefully plan your tech loadouts
- 🔴 x20 – Expensive by design
- 🔴 x50 – Tech becomes commitment
- 🟥 x100 – The HardcoreSky way
🧬 What’s affected:
- The Amount value in each technology’s installation requirements
- Tech install costs (jetpack, scanner, hazard mods, ship tech, etc.)
- Progression pacing, upgrade planning, and nanite strategy
❌ What’s not affected:
- Craftable products or recipes
- Base building costs
- Exocraft/freighter upgrades
- Hazard protection duration
- Blueprint unlocks or rewards
This mod aims to make your technology choices meaningful. Upgrades cost more, which means fewer throwaway installs and more strategic thinking. It rewards preparedness and penalizes spammy upgrading.
