Hi! Thanks so much for updating this mod, it is definitely one of my favorites! I love being able to notice when useful items are near by -- it really enhances gameplay!
I'm having trouble digging up fossils with this mod installed. I see the items marked, but when I dig them up they aren't there, or are invisible / not interactable. If I haven't started digging, I can use the same game save and when this mod is installed, I don't see it, but when it isn't I am able to get it. (If you do this testing, make sure you haven't dug up the fossil before the save, otherwise it disappears)
That is weird. I often have to dig, and it isn't working for me either way when I have your mod installed. I'm on public and I removed all mods (including yours) and I see the fossils, I add just yours it the icon shows up but the fossil doesn't, and I can't interact with the icon.
If it is just me, then it must be something weird with my computer.
This might be why I had a couple of Mineral Deposits showing an Icon, but when I got close to them the Icon disappeared, and there was no Mineral Deposit?
Once you are close enough to the deposits the icons will disappear. That is by design so as not to clutter the display unnecessarily. I have lowered the distance now.
For people having trouble with this mod “Not working Properly”
Currently, it's packaged incorrectly. If you unzip it and install it manually, or use Vortex, you're going to end up with a MODELS and METADATA folders, directly in the GAMEDATA\MODS folder.
There needs to be a folder named after the mod, inside the MODS folder, and THEN the METADATA and MODELS folder inside that.
1. Make a folder inside the GAMEDATA\MODS folder named Auto Scanner Plus 2. Put the MODELS and METADATA folders from the zip, inside the Auto Scanner Plus folder.
If you did everything correctly, you should see this: GAMEDATA\MODS\Auto Scanner Plus And inside that Auto Scanner Folder should be TWO folders named: "MODELS" and "METADATA"
Everything should work fine after that.
If you did it wrong, it will look like this GAMEDATA\MODS\MODELS GAMEDATA\MODS\METADATA
Desperately needs an update for nms 5.61 The LUA has stopped working, it's giving 42 ERRORS now. You should probably repackage the mod so it doesn't extract to GAMEDATA/MODS/AutoScannerPlus/AutoScannerPlus 4.0/
I install manually, and was wondering why it wasn't working, because I didn't realize that the actual Autoscanner Plus folder was inside the Autoscanner Plus folder.
Also for people who use Vortex (It's been updated to work with the 5.5 update, it will do the same thing and end up with GAMEDATA/MODS/AutoScannerPlus/AutoScannerPlus 4.0/ as the path
The latest version of the mod 4.0 has a bug that creates an insurmountable invisible barrier around archaeological ruins, in version 3.9 this is not the case.
yep, was just coming here to comment about the invisible wall thing. Glad you are aware. Also, the way you have the mod packaged causes Vortex to not install it correctly. You have the Main folder, which has another folder inside it which has the stuff to make the mod work. To make it compatible with Vortex Just have >one< folder with all the guts of the mod inside that folder and it will install perfectly. I extracted and recompressed the mod like this, and now it installs correctly. Cheers!
Currently I'm installing via lua and I've noticed that sentinel crash sites have a strange behavior: They initially appear, but then the waypoint appears to fall through the ground until it disappears. Other waypoints generated by the mod don't seem to have this issue.
I am not getting any icons to show up except dangerous flora. I only have 5 other mods installed and they are working. The file that I extracted is full of folders. With other mods I am used to seeing a "mod file" that does most of the work with the occasional supportive file. This is either different or perhaps something is missing? More than likely I just don't have a clue how all this works. That said, thank you for your efforts. I really want to get this working as your mod seems to be something that would really change the game for the better.
Forgive me if I'm being stupid, but it doesn't work for me either. I'm pretty sure i followed all directions, unpacked the latest mod version into the game folder so it looks like /GAMEDATA/MODS/AutoScannerPlus/ (_lua/ and AutoScannerPlus.v4.0/ folders are inside)
Deleted the GCMODSETTINGS.MXML file, the game displays the mod warning as it should (no other mods installed, AUTOSCANNERPLUS appears in the MXML file after launch), but all buildings are displayed as unknown buildings when i use a ship scan or move in close proximity. No icons or building names appear.
Am I missing something? Thank you for your time in advance.
PS: Just installed some other mods with the same install directions, they appear to function just fine for me.

Thanks again for the awesome mod!

Going to try the version that was just uploaded.

See all the Bone Entity Mbins, no wonder AMUMSS was having a hard time with the old version

Same with "Freighter Salvage Terminals" mod too
