"A highly refined food product, created in the Nutrient Processor." Sounds delicious, doesn't it?
No. No it doesn't. FreeGek Tolobsky here, Old Tobby to my friends. Inventory systems across the galaxy have these very bland descriptions for otherwise delicious (or not very delicious) foods. Well I aim to change that. This data packet will add some flavor to your inventory sensors to better describe Spicy Fleshballs so you don't confuse it with a Spikey Tart.
=========================
Hi everyone, Fluxxdog here! This is a mod that enhances the various food descriptions in No Man's Sky. The vast majority of them are so boring that there's no real reason to experiment with cooking other than grinding or trying for 100%. So I've worked to make some descriptions that are, at the very least, more intriguing than telling you it can be used in a nutrient processor.
The descriptions were written from the point of view of FreeGek Tolobsky, a Gek for Hire who's been a lot of places. Text written is meant to be fun while still being mostly informative. He also has a preference for apples.
The mod contains EXML patches to the following MBINs for NMS 5.60:
- LANGUAGE\NMS_LOC4_ENGLISH.MBIN
- METADATA\REALITY\CATALOGUEMATERIALS.MBIN
- METADATA\REALITY\TABLES\NMS_REALITY_GCPRODUCTTABLE.MBIN
Note that the files used are EXML files and should not conflict with other changes made by other mods as this only changes text information. A LocTable is used to add the new descriptions.
If you find any typos or other errors, please feel free to let me know. I am not perfect so things may have slipped past my notice. Thank you for your help.
TRANSLATORS: If you choose the make a variant for your language, I've included notes in the mod for writing this in others languages. It's a lot of editing but it's fun. If you have questions, I'll answer best I can.
Huge shoutout to Lo2k for his NMS Translator module helping me to work out how to make the many edits. Also, big thanks to the AMUMSS team for their work, without which this entire project would have been a slog and abandoned.
Also hearty thanks to Silelda for effectively being my editor on this.
Enjoy the mod and have fun!
