      What game release are you using ?
      It was built for the latest steam experimental, not the current general availability release.  Just tested and it worked.
      If you want it for another release then you can use NMS Mod Builder to build it for whatever release you want.
      Note that it makes changes to several mbin's that are often updated by other mods as well, so if you are using other mods there may be a conflict that is causing the issue.  Again, you can use NMS Mod Builder to check for conflicts.

      Updated.
      Note, this mod is built from a script included with NMS Mod Builder.  The latest release of that app will always have the latest working version of the script.  It takes about 30sec and 3-4 clicks to use the app to build this mod.

    It no longer works... The last update of NMS screwed up a lot of mods. I wished those crapheads would leave things alone.

      Well, it ran. But, it knocked out the EM generators from EM anywhere.. I've tried to merge the 2 files as I did before with another conflict. This time it didn't work. Can you give some insite or maybe put up a LUA Script?

      After many hours of searching and researching... as well as trial and error. I was able to get the 2 files to merge. I got it up and running. But, it would still be nice to have a LUA file to fall back on...

    The mod I didn't even know I needed. I don't mind going to space stations to salvage, but I HATE that I can't call my other ships afterward. Always have to fly out to my freighter, switch ships, back to the station, repeat...

    Is it possible to make a mod like this for the egg sequencer too?

      I'll look into creating a script to make the egg sequencer placeable as well.  Keep in mind this kind of mod makes changes to a couple common mbin's that are used by a number of other mods, meaning only the changes from one of the mods will be used e.g. making the egg sequencer placeable would mean 3 mods: placeable salvage, placeable egg sequencer, placeable salvage and egg sequencer.  You can imagine this quickly becomes unmanageable, which is why the prefered method is to use either NMS Mod Builder (C#) or AMUMSS (lua) scripts to build a merged mod.

      Glad you like it.  You can scrap crashed ships in the base game, but you have to claim then fly up to space station to do so.  This is to help avoid that part of the grind, for players that lilke to play as a scapper.  FYI NMS Mod Builder also has a script that will auto-mark crashed ships when you get within 1-2Ku of them, which makes flying over the planet to find them easier.  It also has a script to add new charts to the cartographer, one of which finds claimable crashed ships only.

    O WOW!! That salvage station is really in the game so after placing one, it should still be there even without the mod, right???

      Hmmm, not sure, never tested that.  The mod adds new placement scene and entity mbin's in order to support placing them, but I'm not sure if they are also used to support placed items in the save files.  I'll test ... nope, need mod even after placement: placed - saved - removed mod - loaded - no longer there.

      What if you just replaced something on the list like the Construction Research Unit?? Maybe that would make the placement permanent??

      Either way you need a mod that changes the building mbin's.
      I don't see a way of using a mod to place, then removing the mod and keeping the placed Salvage station.
