This mod simply makes mining laser useless against creatures... maybe because mining laser is for terrain and not for flesh, who knows ?
Anyway, you might need to quickly switch to another weapon mode the next time a creature will surprise you :)
This mod has been updated for Worlds Part 2 new modding scheme. v4.1 has been updated for 5.58 game version.
