About this mod
This mod converts the BB gun that dad gifts you at the beginning of TTW to a unique version named Roachkiller. Quickstart compatible version available.

"Your dad wanted to make your 10th birthday special, and he felt that you were old enough to finally receive a gift he'd been working on for a long time. With the help of his friend and colleague, Jonas - as well as Vault 101's resident technician, Stanley - he restored an old, discarded BB gun back to working condition. The stock and grip are custom made using cherry wood grown in the vault's hydroponics department, and the metal components of the gun are blued for preservation and stamped with a personal message from dad. Over the years, you've gained a reputation as the vault's most proficient radroach eradicator; this is reflected by the not insignificant number tally marks that you've scratched into the stock to represent your kill count. This rifle may not be a match for anything stronger than a radroach, but it's the most special gift you've ever received; you intend to treasure it for the rest of your life."
Description
This mod replaces the vanilla BB gun given to you by dad at the beginning of the game for one with a custom texture. I chose not to alter any stats because my intention is for this mod to be a variety/immersion enhancing addition rather than having any effect on gameplay balance. You will receive the gun in lieu of the vanilla version during the quest 'Growing Up Fast', and it will be present on the desk during 'Escape.' If you use TTW Quickstart, download the compatibility file and it will be in your inventory upon starting a new save.
I hope you enjoy my mod, and if you have suggestions for additions/improvements I can make for my mod, all reasonable suggestions are considered and constructive feedback is always gladly received.

What if I've already left the vault? I don't want to restart my game just for a BB gun!
Fair enough. It's generally best practice to not add new plugins midsave, but you can get away with it at your own discretion. If you would like to add this mod mid-save, simply type: search "roachkiller" into the console and pick the one named 'WeapBBGunDad' (not the one prefixed with CG02, that's a special quest version)
Why I made this mod
In the past, I have always sold or discarded the BB gun immediately. Recently, while playing TTW I was using it in a radroach infested dungeon to preserve the ammunition of my more powerful guns, which is when I had the idea for this mod. I realised that the BB gun would likely be kept by the Lone Wanderer as a sentimental item, and I decided to carry it through with me to the very end of the playthrough. I wanted to do something to make it stand out from the other BB guns in game, and to be something I could display in my player home if I chose.
Compatibility
This mod should be highly compatible, except if overwritten by any other mod that changes the script for 'Growing Up Fast'. It utilises animations from New Vegas Animation Overhaul - Guns. I used WTH - Weapon Textures from Heaven as a base for the textures, so I would highly recommend that mod for spectacular, high quality textures that will match this gun.
Please note that when using Quick Start Item Remover with the Quick Start version of my mod, you must load my plugin BEFORE quick start item remover's in order for its changes to apply.
Installation
Use your mod manager of choice to install, my personal choice is MO2.
