I am proud to introduce to you the Fallout: New Vegas Resound Project. This modification replaces almost every ballistic, laser, & plasma based weapon in the game, including:
- Player Firing
- NPC Firing
- NPC Distant Firing
- Reloading
- Jamming
These sound files can and are recommended to be used, but are not required, to be accompanied by the .esp files I've created that modify the attenuation of the sounds that play in-game. They have been equalized and balanced for the players enjoyment in first person/thirdperson, meaning all weapon firing should be the same loudness as other ones. There are multiple variations of .esp files to maximize the compatibility with other modifications that alter the vanilla weapon stats. I will go over what each .esp does and how to use them below.
.ESP Files
- NO .ESP || This will cause no extra things to happen, the sounds just replace the vanilla sound effects with no changes to attenuation or items. Definitely safe to use with other mods as long as they do not replace vanilla SFX.
- NavResoundAttenuation[x].esp || This .esp will only alter the sound data in the game, meaning it does not touch any vanilla item statistics, should be safe with other mods
- NavResoundAttenuationMainGameSniperSMGVersion.esp || This .esp will only alter the sound data in the game, with exception of the sniper rifle sound being changed & 10mm smg item changed to use the "pistol22" files created by me to differentiate them. meaning it does not touch any vanilla item besides the 10mm SMG. The sniper rifle sound change will also affect the battle rifle / This Machine since they use the "WPNSniperRifle" firing sounds.
- NavResoundWeaponChanges[x].esp || Enables the multiple changes to item sound statistics, adding different sounds to the sniper rifle, smg, battle rifle, and service rifle. Honest Hearts version adds changes to the .45 pistol & Survivalist rifle. All Weapon Changes .esp(s) are meant to be used in conjunction with attenuation .esp(s) as well, use SniperSMGVersion with the NavResoundMainGame.esp.
All these come with their respective DLC .esp(s) as well, enable which DLC(s) you have and leave the ones you don't have off.
