Library Building and Classic Books

*Prerequisites*

You will need to have iStewieAI's 'Book Menu Restored' installed in order for the books added by this mod to be readable! It restores leftover book menu functionality from Oblivion.

*Description*

A new building has opened up in the heart of Freeside: the Freeside Library! It's a cute little building run by a librarian who is happy to answer any questions. Once you're up to speed, you can dig into a variety of classic novels, short stories, and poems. There are also a couple of poems written by me to be 'in-universe'. You can check out the full list of included texts further down.
The new books stand out from the unreadable base game book assets thanks to ten new covers. There also some other new assets to decorate and help keep order in the library. The librarian wears a new halterneck dress retexture that you can grab a copy of from her office, included just as a fun bonus.

The formatting on the new books is not going to be perfect 100% of the time! This is usually either because I can't see pagination in the GECK or because a lot of the texts use a 'dash' symbol that FNV doesn't display. I can also only include public domain books, and so may not be able to include everything that anybody could possibly want! Hopefully though, this mod can still build up Freeside a little bit, help you find new things to read either in or out of the game, and combine well with other Book Menu mods.

In particular...

*Recommendation*

This mod can be combined with hman101's New Vegas Library Project, which adds a lot of readable books (mostly novels) to the game. Using both mods together opens up the possibility of making it your mission to fill up the empty space on the shelves of Freeside Library.

*Book List*

I have focused on adding on short stories and poems because they're more practical to read in FNV than full-length novels. I acknowledge that certain genres have less representation than others, but I have tried to include a variety of work regardless. Having to source books only from the public domain is a limitation that means the majority of books included are from the 1800s.

Install instructions:
1- Drag the 'Data' folder from the mod into your Fallout New Vegas directory and the mod meshes and textures will merge into the main NV folders.
2- After that, just go to 'Data Files' on the NV game launcher and tick the box next to 'FreesideLibrary.esp' to enable the mod! After this, you're ready to go!

------------------------------
Compatibility:
Unlikely to conflict with other mods unless they happen to use the exact same building in Freeside. Check the location screenshot to see which one that is. Currently (1.0), none of the books have been placed anywhere else in the NV world.
