What Does This Mod Do?

Adds a brand-new weapon, the Tesla Marksman Rifle, formerly known as the TAR-3 Tesla Assault Rifle, to the Mojave. You'll find this weapon carried by high-tier Fiends, and Enclave soldiers, should you find yourself meeting them (perhaps in D.C?). A few vendors carry it, but as a post-war weapon designed for military purposes by a particular fascist California-based organization, it's still a rare enough sight to behold.

While the main goal of this series is of course to refurbish old mods, I believe a big part of that refurbishment is to rebalance weapons as necessary, and an area which New Vegas is sorely lacking is long-range energy weapons. The TAR-3 has gone from a fully automatic tesla weapon to a marksman rifle, complete with a newly added scope courtesy of Millenia's CAWS. It sits firmly in-between the Laser Rifle with its scope attachment, and the Gauss Rifle, firing slower than the LR and with a lower magazine (charge?) size, but dealing more damage than it at a more consistent rate than the Gauss Rifle. It still requires 75 Energy Weapons to wield, but that's mostly because the Gauss Rifle kinda deserves a skill requirement of 100!

A post-war rifle designed by the Enclave during the height of their power, this weapon is built with tech seldom seen by anyone in the Wasteland.

Stats:

Costs 3 MF Cells Per Shot
9 Round Charge (That's 3 Shots!)
50 Base Damage (+EMP Damage!)

there's also a tiny bit of clipping in 3rd person. I can do nothing about this.

Compatibility:

The original mod had the texture paths baked into the .esp, as well as the mesh itself. That wouldn't be a huge problem normally, except it seemed to cause folks a lot of trouble when compatibility was concerned. Popular weapon texture mods that included custom meshes but overwrote the original texture paths (like Millenia's wonderful Weapon Retexture Project) would break this mod, as the UVs no longer matched up. To remedy this, the textures have been un-baked from the esp, and the problem textures have been corrected.

Besides this, leveled list integration is done via scripts, so no sweating there.

Patches are included for TTW and Dead Money Tweaks, B42 Optics, and Hitman's Gauss Rifle Anims. They're built into the mod, no need for extra downloads.

Showcase:

(i spent more time editing this than i did bothering to gather clips. so it ends a little abruptly LOL)
