Super simple script, makes all power armor stronger by applying actor effects through NVSE - increased health, and/or unarmed damage.

Power armor in New Vegas is kind of disappointing. It looks small, is not particularly useful, and is usually not worth the weight to carry it. It's basically clothing.

Titans of the West solves the aesthetics, but I feel that power armor should more sharply increase physical stats. This is dramatically more noticeable if you use damage multipliers the way I do. Thus, I made myself a scriptrunner to increase power armor health on myself and NPCs. I'm releasing it in case anyone has interest in it.

Changes
+Power armor now directly increases health by a few hundred points depending on the variant. NCR Salvaged is the lowest, at 100.
+Power armor increases unarmed damage by around dozen points on average.

These changes are per armor.


Q: Compatibility?
A: It's compatible with TOTNW and other visual mods. It's a scriptrunner that applies effects. I don't experience any issues, and it keeps NPCs in power armor from dying immediately. I've used it in my modlist for like, a year and a half now. You might have issues if you use Fireproof Power Armor with it because they use the same function, but it should work fine. If you experience a problem, use BURN - Hardcore fire effects which is certified compatible

It is fully compatible with the increased DT/DR functions of TOTWN gameplay, but if you use too many effects, it can override my mod. See the comments for how to avoid this.

Q: Issues?
A: Cosmetic display of the health bar of enemies doesn't consider their boosted health. This is fixed with StewieTweaks benemyhealthbarshowbuffedhp.  It also means you can't take off power armor below a certain health without negative values - I consider this acceptable, if janky, power armor being a stabilizing agent is reasonable enough. Not super pretty or fancy.

Q: Why not just make a bunch of super god effects?
A: The mod breaks if you add too many effects. See the comments.

Q: Why not add DR then?
A: I find that even small DR is hard to balance in addition to health AND DT, it made the NPCs impossible to kill. The 100 - 300 health boost is more than it seems like because of how armor works.

I am currently unaware if it is possible for an NPC to break sequences by taking off power armor. So just make sure you're healthy before taking off the suit that stabilizes all your organs. 


Let me know if you encounter any issues, this is pretty hack-and-dash, but can be installed safely mid-game or removed mid-game without any issues to your save and should thus be (generally) compatible with cosmetic overhauls like titans of the new west.
