About this mod

Grants elevator access to the Sierra Madre Penthouse, the founder's suite at the top of the casino and the place Elijah was trapped all that time after first getting inside. Don't leave the Villa without taking in the stunning view through its windows!

The Sierra Madre Penthouse is my imagining of the founder's luxurious personal suite at the very top of the casino. A quiet, haunting place almost immaculately preserved for two hundred years.

If this were an advertisement, I would describe how it features a large spacious living room complimented by a cozy study and full bar kitchenette tended by your very own hologram bartender as well as one of the casino's proprietary dispensaries. Master bedroom and master bath with state of the art Autodoc, filtrated plumbing, luxury bedding and reinforced security safe. The large windows boast an impressive view of the entrance courtyard to the Casino below as well as parts of the Villa beyond set against the scenic mountains on the horizon.

Early development images from Obsidian (as shown on TriangleCity's video 'Dead Money's Cut Content') even make reference to a "penthouse level", although this was presumably developed into what became the Executive Suites where Vera lived out her last moments.

We find the remains of Frederick Sinclair on one of the pipes inside his Vault where he perished attempting to undo the work he had done to turn it into death trap but we never get to see where he lived inside the casino. Surely it must've been the penthouse, the highest floor just above the Executive Suites. Where else for the owner and financier?

Or have you ever wondered where Elijah actually was during Dead Money until he finally comes down to settle things in the Vault? His dialogue indicates that he was trapped somewhere within the casino after managing to get inside with a previous team of collared accomplices, presumably just before getting knocked unconscious by casino security and moved to one of the floors the same way it processes all its guests while under lockdown. There's even dialogue with Christine where the player tells her that Elijah is going to pass by her through Vera's Suite on his way to the Vault Elevator and she must allow him to pass unharmed. Where does he come from? It must've been a place which afforded him administrative access to many of the Casino and Villa's systems judging by the way he's able to keep tabs on almost everything that's going on.

But enough history. The Sierra Madre Penthouse is intended to be a final reward for completing Dead Money and a last farewell to the casino before returning to the Mojave.

All of the containers are lootable and the wall safe in the master bedroom houses a special reward if you can hack or crack it open. The wardrobe can be searched to acquire a unique tuxedo, which players should recognize as the otherwise nonsensical male version of Vera's Outfit. For consistency's sake, I've also edited Vera's Outfit to display only the female version. The bar and kitchenette features a deluxe refrigerator and electric hotplate. The hologram bartender can be used to purchase anything for sale within the casino while the nearby Vending Machine provides a convenient dispensary for anything else. The master bath has purified water running through its pipes while the Autodoc can restore crippled limbs and cure exhaustion. The jukebox is tuned into the casino's radio system and you can even scrape a little something out from inside the ventilation duct.

To access the Penthouse level, you must acquire a special keycard found with the owners remains inside the Vault. You will only have one chance and if you do not pick it up before concluding your business with Elijah in the Vault, it will be locked inside forever out of your reach. Once you have acquired the keycard and escaped the Vault, you will be able to visit the Penthouse using the Sierra Madre's elevator system, either from the Lobby or the Suites.

I hope you enjoy your stay and that it compliments my favorite piece of Fallout ever.

"Wait a moment, before you go. I...we...hope you've enjoyed your stay. Farewells can be a time of sadness. Letting go...difficult. As a guest of the Sierra Madre, you know that truth more than anyone. Frederick Sinclair believed one's life could be made anew every day, that fortunes were more than the wealth in your hands. Love. Life...family, those to care for, and those who will care for you. To those who know these joys, the Sierra Madre holds little they don't already have. Out in the world, beyond these walls, that is your chance to begin again. I hope that you'll return, in happier times. Until then, the Sierra Madre...and I...will hold you in our hearts."

If you just want t
o check out the Penthouse without playing through Dead Money again, that's alright too. I'll understand. For those of you, you can check it out by using the console. Users of JohnnyGuitarNVSE will be able to simply use the plaintext Editor IDs without having to input FormIDs.

You can visit the cell using the console by following this method (substituting ## with the mod index of the plugin from your load order):

coc ##000800;NVDLC01PenthouseSuite

Spoiler:
Show
Substitute ## in the FormID with the "Mod Index" of the mod in your load order. The Mod Index is a two-character hexadecimal code, with a value between 00 and FF, that can be found using a mod manager. It should be listed somewhere beside the name of the plugin. After finding the Mod Index,
open the console in game using the tilde (~) key.

Note that if you haven't completed Dead Money yet, you will also want to type into the console:

set NVDLC01Collars to 0

Otherwise, even if you haven't started DM, the speakers in the Penthouse will cause you to explode after 10 seconds. Make sure not to forget to set this global back to 1 in the console after leaving the Penthouse or the collars in DM won't function correctly.

This mod requires the New Vegas DLC Dead Money and Old World Blues.

For users of my other mod Masters of the Madre who want to finish Dead Money by teaming up with Elijah to conquer the Mojave with the power of the Sierra Madre, this mod is already fully integrated so you do not need this mod if you have MOTM enabled and you will be able to enjoy the Penthouse as a player home indefinitely. The cell is fully navmeshed so you can bring Veronica or Elijah's Jury-Rigged Eyebot there too.

The mod Sierra Madre Grand Entrance by AgentFuse adds a stunning new courtyard between the Casino's entrance gate and the lobby. This mod uses modified assets from it for the view through the windows of the Penthouse suite so you'll definitely want this enabled when entering the casino for the first time.

BronSolo2323, creator of the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite Strip View Windows mod, whose work inspired me to try and make a penthouse suite for the
Sierra Madre with actual windows that you could see out of and who was so gracious and helpful in our messages on Discord as they guided me through the process of learning how to actually do this myself as well as for the use of their assets to make the mesh for the mountain horizon view around the exterior of the Penthouse.

NoBarkNoBiteNoonan for taking the mesh for the Suite windows and whipping up re-UV'd versions with fixed meshes set up for transparency so that you could actually see through them while still retaining the details of the dirty glass texture.

AgentFuse for creating the aforementioned Sierra Madre Grand Entrance mod and allowing permission to use its assets with credit. I used a modified version of their exterior LOD to serve as the view through the windows of the casino Penthouse Suite. I couldn't think of a more fitting backdrop then this mod's take on the casino's entrance courtyard.

Whaledon for their Sierra Madre Exterior Fixed mesh which AgentFuse's mod uses as a base.

Inthegrave for their help debugging the radio station playing from the jukebox.

The xNVSE Mod Development and TTW Author's Talk Discords for all their advice and banter.

Chris Avellone for, you know, writing and directing Dead Money in the first place.
