These animated Metal Boxes look great, one thing I have noticed though and I don't know if anything can be done about it but if you are in the position to see into the Box when it is opened the bottom of the box is the texture that it is sitting on which looks rather odd.
it's so other mods don't overwrite it, instead of the mesh i i did the texture, if you retain the same file path as vanilla and use a different mesh, you'll get fucked UV if another mod overwrites it
Does anyone here use JAM Just Assorted Mods and find that it stops mesh replacers like this from working?
Obviously I realize it's not an issue with this mod, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this, because this is hands down the best replacer for the metal boxes I can find.
JAM adds it's own models with animations, you can have one or the other model. If you use a mod manager it's easy enough to move one mod above or below the other to overwrite the nif depending on which one you want to keep, or delete the nif file from JAM. If you install manually, stop. j/k, if you do install manually, you have to install this one after JAM so it overwrites. You do not have to stop using JAM in entirety, just swap the file order.
I added support for this mod to No More Double Open And Close Sounds. Thanks for making this mod. I'll keep an eye out in case more containers get animated, even though there aren't very many left at this point.
I'm not normally one to make mod requests (I prefer trying to solve issues myself as long as it's within my ability), but I do have one if you'd be willing to hear it. Would it be at all possible to make a FO3 version of your "Double Sound Fix" mod? I'm currently in the middle of a heavily modded FO3 playthrough (before I jump into a modded FNV one), and I'm using various compatible FNV mods including some of georgem's. However, the double sound bug persists in FO3 as well when using mods like this. If it's not something that can be done through FOSE for whatever reason, then I understand, but I figured I'd at least ask.
Apologies. I almost never make mod requests, so I'm extremely unfamiliar with any kind of generally accepted procedure. I usually leave a comment on the actual mod page in question (in this case, the one Asterra linked to), but I chose to respond directly to him through a reply. In any case, I'll be sure to just message the author directly for things like this from now on. Again, sorry for the unnecessary comments on your mod page.
in a few years, maybe, just maybe computers are fast enough with enough memory to pull of a all 4K FNV, just maybe...LOL. I wouldn't count on it though.
Any possibility of an alternative version of the texture which more closely matches the vanilla levels? I gave it a shot, but I'd be happier with an official file.

Most the stuff in my game is downsampled to 2k/1k outside of rocks and roads
I only post the 4k stuff for the crazy mfers
