Thanks for the great mod! Grunt in-game description still says that it gives a 20% damage bonus, although in reality, it gives only a 15% Also, you didn't mention in the description about Ain't Like That Now, Thought You Died, Just Lucky I'm Alive edits.
Ooooh my bad you're right ! I forgot I have to translate this into the geck directly instead with an external tool. Will fix that, thanks for noticing it.
very nice. my only critique is confirmed batchelor and cherchez la femme etc are use by players for roleplaying your character's sexuality. i can see where youre coming from with wanting to make charisma more useful. like how it doesnt make much sense that a 1 charisma character can seduce everyone with the right perks. but charisma is still a problem even with this mod. you can have a speech 100, barter 100, but 1 charisma character, it doesn't make much sense. but it's still kind of fine.
an actual solution to fix charisma/speech in new vegas i dont think is possible with mods. it would have needed to be adressed during development with rewitten dialogue or a complete change to how charisma functions or smth.
untimately i think this requirement just gets in the way of roleplay. any form of sexuality is gated off to charismatic characters and thats just kind of obtuse on the player's end. makes sense for min-maxers, characters roleplaying as charismatic seducers, but not for roleplaying ur sexuality. like, u can only be gay, straight or bi if u have 5 charisma, just like in real life...? everyone else is asexual?
Charisma Tweaks (NVSE) is a good mod to make charisma useful. We can state for years about those perks. But I'm not agree with you when you say : "like, u can only be gay, straight or bi if u have 5 charisma, just like in real life...? everyone else is asexual?". You can do what you want and be who you want. Do you really need a perk to define the sexual orientation of your character ? Those perks don't only define the sexuality of your character but are clearly also seductive perks and define how others characters see you, that's why I'm sure charisma is important. Your character can be gay if you decide, but it's not mean that every other NPC will find your character attractive, even if they are gay too. That's why a minimum charisma is still required. Having a guarantee success in sexual and seduction dialogs depends also of the NPC you're talking to. Let imagine you're an heterosexual man in real life. Be able to tell dirty, seduce or saying sexual words to women won't guarantee you having sex with each woman, especially with 0 charisma XD right ? Reality is that Charisma could be the key in those situation. I never search for "same as reality" when I'm making mods, I'm seraching for fun and challenge, but I'm sure those edits are closer to "reality". At least, MY reality (not all the world share the same seduction and sexual codes) That being said, interpretation of the game is very personnal. If you need, you can remove the charisma need with FNVedit. I don't think I will remove that in the mod. Thanks anyway for for your remarks. Always interesting to share opinions
Your sex perks seem to be unbalanced. The ones that require 5 charisma (same sex) should do 10% damage while the ones that req 4 char (opposite sex) should do the lesser 5%. You put it in favor of males, irrespective of perk choice.
The reason of these tweaks is that female characters (and especially as enemies) are simply less many than men. That why the bonus is better against female than against male: with same bonus and requirements you could also say Vanilla perks are quite unbalanced. Then I decide to put a little harder charisma need for same sex situations, assuming New Vegas world is moslty heterosexual and that same sex dialog situations should need more charisma (because more uncommon) and so player with low charisma cannot take the two perks without investing a little more in Charisma. That said, it's my personal interpretation, feel free to change that with FNVedit !
