DESCRIPTION
Much like the C.R.I.B. player home that I released earlier, this is a from-the-ground-up re-build of my first (and current) player home from New Vegas. I went for a more rustic, homey vibe with this one, in keeping with the game's less sci-fi/techy feel, in contrast to Fallout 3. The features of this home are more simple and grounded - akin to what I think a scavenger reclaiming an abandoned house might realistically manage to come up with. It's got the following:

  • Kitchen - With a functional stovetop (letting you craft campfire recipes), sink, and fridge, along with seating for up to four people
  • Living Room - With a liquor cabinet, snowglobe display stand, functional jukebox (plays blues tracks), couches, and lots of clutter
  • Bedroom - With a safe, wardrobe, bed, desk, and terminal
  • Bathroom - With a toilet, sink, and functional bathtub (scrubs rads)
  • Basement - With a workbench, reloading bench, lockers, garbage can, ammo and weapons storage, a soda machine, water purifier, and a first aid station (only heals wounds and crippled limbs)

The cell is fully NavMeshed, and includes idle markers in every room so that companions should have plenty of stuff to do.

LOCATION
The house is the second one north of Doc Mitchell's, just down the hill from the gas station, with the Bighorner out front. Previously boarded up, it now has two lanterns beside the door to mark it. Trudy has the key which you must either pickpocket, or complete 'Ghost Town Gunfight' in Goodsprings' favor to be rewarded with the key upon completion. I assume the key can also be looted from Trudy's corpse if you choose to do 'Run Goodsprings Run' instead, but I've never gone that route and don't plan to start now.

DLC PLUGIN NOTES
There are two plugins available - one for base-game-only New Vegas and one for New Vegas with all the DLCs. The DLC version overwrites the vanilla DLC snowglobe scripts so that the instances in the Lucky 38 are not enabled when you pick up a DLC snowglobe (meaning you don't get any caps either), and the Misc item isn't removed from your inventory. If you carry that back to the house and activate the display stand, the corresponding DLC snowglobe will appear over the fireplace mantle.

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas. If you're running the FNV+DLC version, make sure you rename the 'Data/sound/voice/FNV Goodsprings Home.esp' folder to 'Data/sound/voice/FNV+DLC Goodsprings Home.esp', otherwise the jukebox won't work. Alternatively, you can also rename the plugin to FNV Goodsprings Home.esp, which might be simpler.
