About this mod

This mod adds a fully-automatic .50 MG heavy machine gun to the game.

*** This weapon is also available as part of my NIF-Bashed Weapons Mega-Pack ***

This mod requires textures from Dead Money, Honest Hearts & Gun Runners' Arsenal, but does not require the DLC to play.

DESCRIPTION
This gun started out as an attempt to make something akin to the FN MAG/M240 general-purpose machine gun, but as I was building it, I decided to make it fire .50 MG rounds.

I started with the base game Light Machine Gun mesh and removed everything but the receiver, chopping it down into a rectangle. I then added the stock from the Anti-Materiel Rifle, the pistol grip from the Bozar, the barrel, bipod, gas system, sights and shoulder brace from the Automatic Rifle, the charging handle from the .45 SMG, the rear sight notch from the Grenade Rifle and the front sight post from the Service Rifle. I also added the ammunition feed chute from the machine gun sentry turret and shrunk down the Operation: Anchorage ammo dispenser to use as a drum magazine.

Gameplay-wise, this weapon is loud, heavy, and slow-firing but does almost as much damage as the Anti-Materiel Rifle with each shot. It cannot be modded, but I've added the weapon to all the appropriate form lists, so that all perks and challenges that affect machine guns will work as expected.

LOCATION
The weapon can be purchased from the Gun Runners and other vendors across the Wasteland, or found in random loot drops. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, you can always use the following console command (Substitute ## with the Mod Index of the plugin in your load order):

player.AddItem ##000ADE 1;Gives 1 Heavy Assault Machine Rifle Mk. II

The Mod Index is a two-character hexadecimal code, with a value between 00 and FF, that can be found using a mod manager. It should be listed somewhere beside the name of the plugin. After finding the Mod Index, open the console in game using the tilde (~) key, and type Player.AddItem <FormID> 1

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.
