This mod adds .30-06 ammunition to the game (standard, AP, HP, JSP, and Surplus) and changes the Automatic Rifle, This Machine, and the Battle Rifle (optional file) to use the new .30-06 ammo type. The mod replaces instances of .308 ammo in Dead Money with the new ammo type and adds the ability to find .30-06 ammo outside of Dead Money.

This mod adds .30-06 ammunition to the game (standard, AP, HP, JSP, and Surplus) and changes the Automatic Rifle, This Machine, and the Battle Rifle (optional file) to use the new .30-06 ammo type. The mod replaces instances of .308 ammo in Dead Money with the new ammo type and adds the ability to find .30-06 ammo outside of Dead Money. Sierra Madre Vending Machines now dispense .30-06 instead of .308. It has a custom texture for the .30-06 ammo box.

To account for the new ammo type, all weapons that use the new .30-06 ammunition have been given 2 extra damage. The Automatic Rifle's spread has been reduced from a shotgun-like spread to one more befitting of a machine rifle (it's been taken from 2.5 to 1.8, making it still worse than the base game's LMG).

Users of either of the NVSE versions can disable these balance changes permanently in a save, and may also disable all changes to the Battle Rifle
(you may want to do this, for example, if you have a replacer for the Battle Rifle). Open the spoiler below for instructions.

To disable all balance changes, type the following in the console: set TASBalance to 0

To disable changes to the Battle Rifle (GRA), type the following in the console: set BattleRifle3006 to 0

After typing either of these in the console, save and reload. This will only persist on a given character, so if you start a new game you will need to do this again.

I have also included in the .esp a "Junk Rounds" version of the .30-06 ammo that you can easily implement into your game via GECK if you use a mod that restores these rounds for other ammo types.

The purpose of the mod is to make the Automatic Rifle (and This Machine) more attractive to use by having it use a different ammo type than the Hunting Rifle and Sniper Rifle. Also, it's more realistic.

REQUIREMENTS
All files require Dead Money, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road. Files marked NVSE require New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE). Files marked GRA, as well as both NVSE files, additionally require Gun Runners' Arsenal.

KNOWN ISSUES
For the NVSE versions, if you load the game with one of the affected weapons equipped, you will need to unequip it for the changes to take effect.

CONFLICTS
It may conflict with any mod that changes ammo found in a couple of containers inside Dead Money. Non-NVSE versions may conflict with mods that change the Automatic Rifle, This Machine, or the Battle Rifle (GRA) in any way. Other than that, it uses scripts, so it won't conflict with any mods that alter the base game leveled lists or ammo, etc.

OPTIONAL FILES
Versions are available for compatibility with GunRunners Arsenal Integration Mod by Lopham.

Versions are available for compatibility with my mod Rifle and Handgun Ammo Overhaul. These versions add all the applicable .30-06 ammo types. You must have installed any of the versions of Rifle and Handgun Ammo Overhaul for these versions to work properly. Otherwise, there will be mesh/texture errors.

PATCH
The "Sierra Madre .308 Patch" re-adds the .308 Vending Machine Code instead of getting rid of it, and adds a few Hunting Rifles and .308 ammo boxes across the Sierra Madre. They are few and far between and only appear about half as often as the Automatic Rifle and its ammunition.

Making this a patch instead of a main file helps me cut down on the number of main files that I have to manage.

INSTALLATION
Only download ONE of the eight main files, depending on your preference. Download the patch as well if you wish to. Put the contents of the mod folder (the folder with the .esp inside of it) into your Data folder, or use a mod manager.; load the patch plugin after the mod itself if you downloaded it. To uninstall, delete the mod's files (.esp, meshes, and textures) or uninstall using a mod manager.

ADDENDUM
I have made a lot of mods. Because I like to create different versions to give the user plenty of options, it's extremely difficult for me to bundle my mods together. I recommend getting the FNV Mod Limit Fix by iranrmrf, or try using a tool like Merge Plugins by Mator.
